Lost Oil/doing A Service - How Much Box Oil.?

Hey guys..

With in a span of 4 weeks for some reason i have lost a lot of motor oil in my r34 gt. I bought the car in feb this year. i checked the oil about 4 weeks ago and it was on the F mark. checked it the other day and it was down near the L mark WTF..... the motor has real good compression, it dont blow oil smoke or un-burnt fuel or have any problems that im aware of at this current time haha. Iv done a oxygen sensor in it about 4 weeks ago. the car runs quite well and i get about 550km to a tank of fuel (i dont drive like a granny either). Iv done 8,500km in the car since i got it 2 months ago..

Iv decided to go out and get new lubricants for the car.

Iv got NULON 10W-40 (fully synthetic) for the motor + new oil filter (Z145A)

got NULON super dot 4 break fluid

NULON total fuel system cleaner

I want to change the box oil as well as the diff oil while iv got the car on the hoist. just do it all at the same time.

Was going to get NULON 75W-85 manual box oil + a smooth shift additive and NULON 80W-90 in the diff.

Now my problem is i dont know what the compacity of the gearbox or diff is.? iv spent about 3 hours on this forum looking for answers but cant find answers. could someone give me a hand and let me know how many liters the box and diff take..? My cars a 1998 r34 25gt RWD manual

Also it would be good if someone could tell me if the oils im going to put in the car are alright..?

The diff is about 1.3L and the gear box about 3.8L. Instead of getting nulon for the box then putting in the addidtive just use redline lightweight shockproof already got the addidtive in it and works great in rb boxes. The rest of the oils are fine will do the job.

thanks boostn0199. yeah iv seen the redline oils are pretty good. there pretty expensive but. my car is no race car (though i think it is lol) and dont put out a stack of power or anything.. is it really worth paying the extra again for the redline..?

also where should i fill the box from.?

You can get a bottle of tge redline stuff from just jap for 99 as appose to most other places that want 150 so not to bad for 100. Fill it from the side plug on the box or you can remove the shifter and fill it from there.

I love shockproof (lightweight in my gtr's gearbox), but I've stopped recommending it, someone has mentioned the formula was changed sometime in the past year or 2 (or 3) and people have reported recent fluid blowing out the gearbox breathers.

As for oil loss, it might be worth temporarily running a oil catch can and see if it's going out the breathers. Check intercooler and intake piping for oil.

The fuel system cleaner was a waste of money.

its a rb25de (n/a) version... obviously rwd and seems to have lsd...

can it still run a catch can..? i have taken the top intake plenum off and can see a bit of oil around in there.. its not flooded but it still a bit
