Hi guys

Hoping someone can shed some light on this. I replaced my battery today and now i have beeping noise coming from my driver's footwell. The beeps quicken when i have the ignition on or turn the car on.

I tried searching here and G35 forums with limited success.

I tried holding down the buttons on the keyfob for 3-4 secs, couldnt get the horn to sound or lights to flash (had read that this can 'reset' beep noises in cabin)

Have also inspected each of the fuses in the driver's footwell, all are good.

Any ideas from anyone?

Cheers

Mat

hmm sorry I can't be of more help but since nobody else has chimed in so far...

I take it no warning lights on the dash suddenly lighting up with the beep?

You could try resetting the ECU & see if that stops the beeping.

hope you get it sorted soon

Thanks Yo-yo, yeah no warning lights, car seems to operate normally.

Whats the easiest way to reset the ECU? I've read theres a few ways and not all of them apparently work!?

Cheers

^^ does that still work?? I thought resetting the ECU by disconnecting the power was something that hasn't worked since the mid 1990s? everything is stored in flashRAM now isn't it?

i put a Z tube on my 2003 A/T on Saturday and the final instruction was to disconnect the negative side of the battery to reset the ECU. It worked. ;)

mattyray did it stop beeping

Nope, doesnt seem to work. Reconnected battery this arvo and the beep is still there.

Too scared to drive it around with a constant beeping at me.....havent found anywhere that can look at it for at least a week!?

grrrrrr

Yeah, thats exactly what i asked for from 3 Nissan dealerships, earliest i could get in was 6th of June!

Cheers for the advice anyways guys.

Happy to hear from anyone else who has encountered similar issues.

6th of June - they've got to be pulling your leg! Probably giving you crap service because it's an import.

You could try a Repco mechanic or some other private workshop. Many of them have a comprehensive array of diagnostic devices.

Heck, I could probably post you my Cipher cable to get there before then.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
