Haha maybe your car and mine were friends back in J land, sounds like the way mine was...... BUT its more because i modified the kent outta mine and kept breaking stock bits lol

Had a go at formula fords today.

Think im going to get into karts, going to try organise a try day at cameron park, let me know if anyone would be interested in coming along

Interested...

Need 10ppl and is through the week...

Not a bad deal.... I'll be stuck at work for the next couple of months tho... So not likely to be able too :/

would like to try formula Ford's.

How much for those?

and I doubt I'd fit in the cockpit.

its through those 'adrenalin' deals online. $350 gets you 10 laps around a small section of eastern creek (takes ~ less then 1min to complete a lap). because someone cancelled in our group we got 15 laps each, i would reccomend 20laps, as you do that in two parts.

its not the best thing ever, but is alot of fun. they are proper formula fords, but they put used wet tyres on?... and they may be detuned slightly?... but still went pretty hard and cornered well.

i think you would be fine fitting in. they have limits of like 120kg and 200cm or something like that.

sounds like a good day ant!

Paul has a go kart he takes to Cameron park.

looks alright but wakie is cheaper all day in something much faster ;)

really, i might need to hit him up... im heaps keen to give them a go.

i wouldnt say wakie is cheaper?... (i dont know the full costs of go karts yet though) but wear and tear on cars, even setting them up for track is very expensive. and karting you can actually enter races and be competitive as far as i understand, instead of just beating your own times etc..

not to say if i do get into karting i will never take the gtr on the track, there just two different things..

im guessing you could race all year in a go kart for maybe 5k or under including buying a kart?..

Alex races a kart too. loves it! He has the Evo but is converting that back from Time Attack spec back to a streetable nugget and just using the kart for fun as its so cheap!

Wakie isnt cheaper when you factor fuel, accomodation and track time, last time i went there it cost me $6500 :P lolz

yea i think thats what im going to do hey.. sounds really fun.

very keen!

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
