hello people.. we are one week out and just have a question.

i looked at the weather this morning and it says 70% chance of rain... what are peoples thoughts on rainy weather? do we want to postpone if the weather is sh!t on the morning of? (not real fun standing around getting wet looking at cars etc), or we could try and get into the hoyts undercover carpark (can be pretty busy, and not 100% sure how low friendly it is there?..) which is right next door to the car park we were going to meet in anyways..

would appreciate peoples thoughts, not 100% certain on the amount of people that will show up, and if it is wet, will that deter alot of you?

Cheers,

Anthony

Weather won't deter me :-), but i'm going to rock up in a work car :-(.

I think its a bit early to make a decision - maybe just let people know to check here on sunday morning and postpone it then if need be.

yea deffinately wouldnt be making a call until the morning of the day mate, just wanting to guage what peoples thoughts are if it does rain on the day etc?... ie if people are not going to show because of rain, i will cancel the booking at the pub on that morning if it is pissing down etc.. and if people arent phased by it, then i wont worry, and it will go ahead regardless... just trying to get an idea etc.

dont want to postpone it and upset people etc, as this date does seem to work with most people. at the same time, theres no point having it if rain is going to potentially stop people from coming ha.

sorry mis understood your post Anthony,

I think half the point of these events is the social aspect so i rekon keep the booking no matter what, people can just choose if they bring there "special" (for lack of a better word) car on the day if its raining.

should be fun anth hopefully il try come up for a nice drive if its good weather.. il be up for a cruise

should do it jayson, I'm keen to check your 33 out after the pics from lowdown.

would be good to see you and your car again mate...

yea i was thinking this, even if its absolutely pouring, still gotta have lunch.... and a beer or two ha.

Doesn't worry me if it's raining or not

Can still look at cars and plan on having lunch regardless with the wife

I know my car can get under hoyts easy enough but it isn't lowered either

nice one.

yea i have never driven down there in my car, but those ramps are very wide so should be able to get some decent angled approach. might drop in there sometime this week to check it and the venue out.

Exactly

Only takes 5 mins to drop the front diffuser, which i found was usually the clearence problem most of the time.

would be happy for you to have a good look at mine mate, but not take it off...

because mine isnt a vspec i had to buy mine seperate, and its a pretty average copy, and a massive pain to fit compared to a genuine one, as in you really have to strech the diffuser to bolt it up and can be painful.

can have a look on the weekend in detail and see if it is possible.

You make the assumption that if I took it off it would be going back on your car j/k

Will have to check these out though and sounds like a plan to me

Ruxis no need to detail just wash and do a quick wax to get the effect in the rain

Yeah I'm keen rain or not. If it rains I may need to detail my car to get the cool "I have wax on my car" look haha.

Haha don't park next to me then, mine still has a fairly nice coat from the detail! Let me know when your detailing though, I will give you a hand.

Hahaha nice one. Not sure if it would work / matchup etc, but if it looks ok, the copy's cost about 350

Is yours a copy of the stock one or does it extend further back? (mines not stock - it goes back to the fire wall)

On the gtt i believe you need a gtr bar & lip to fit the diffuser...which then requires a gtr bonnet and front fenders - not really worth the effort.

I'm sure i've seen a gtt bolt on diffuser somewhere though..

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
