If the weather is kind (sposed to be a few showers) I'll most likely drop down to spectate for the afternoon.

will be on my way home from the A.C.T.so i want to call in and do some testing.Having probs with spark and/or plugs think i might have to invest in some splitfire coils.Had an embarrasing sit at autosalon on dyno as plugs were incorrect and they gave me 5mins to change them on the dyno still probs but made 357kw.was leading comp but supra owner and friend daniel decided to have another go and did me by 8kw.Gapped them down at jakes perf.in canberra and made 380kw.so if weather is ok we will see how we run.

Pretty average day really, hardly any spectators and nowhere near as many competitors as I expected. Hopefully it's not like this every Saturday otherwise I think I might have to compete again and do 8 laps like most of the other cars :)

Yeah i got there about 12 and i couldnt believe the small numbers!!

I thought about going home and getting my car and i reckoni would have got atleast 8 runs in.

In the last hour i counted one car go thru 5 times!

There was a beautiful R32 GTR there which did 12's all day, I suspect is was a lady driving as well.

Adrian i saw your beast in the carpark, how come you didnt run?

Also what happened to your mates STi on his last run (18sec)?

That would have been Stace's (first post of this thread).

Looked like 2nd was causing some grief but 12.5's all day i'd be quite happy with :)

Waiting for new rubber :)

Missed 3rd gear. The 6 speed is really close between shifts and he routinely misses gears. We stripped out all the excess shit in his car, (spare wheel, mats, tools, cd's etc), and fitted the bleed valve, set the boost to 1.2bar and he went 12.7 then 12.6. Not bad considering it's only got minimal mods. FMIC, Exhaust, Springs, Pod. Was fun watching the Defi boost guage play the run back

Benm, I don't think Stace was happy with 12.5's :)

yeh, managed a best of 12.3. Did 9 runs had excellent fun, not as scared any more. Just couldnt seem to get the power down and the gear changes quick enough. Constantly did 12's (12.7,12.5,12.5,12.6,12.4,13.6,12.3,13.0), except when I missed a gear and went from 2nd to 5th.......13.6, and still won!!). Need to get spiltfire coils as the spark was blowing out and I had to reduce the boost down to 1.5 bar. Need to learn how to do a burnout so I can get the tyres hotter, as I had some wheel spin off the line. Maybe setup a switch to turn the fronts off. Bit embarrasing as I was the only car all day not doing a burnout . Car sounds different now with no muffler (like a 13B, poor me!!).

But you're just a chick  Try stuffing burnouts up when you're a bloke :)

ROFL!!!

Now I know how to do them properly I wave to the officials and the camera guys while I'm doing them :)

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
