Recommended Posts

Ended up getting some of the 3m double sided tape. It feels to be on quite sturdily at the moment, but I bought the white stuff so you can see a bit of it in places. Looks a bit ghey.

Happy New Year all!

Any interest for more CF stuff for early feb-march?

please note they close for 2weeks in china due to chinese new years...

Would be keen if they can do ztune skirts and pods for GTT

Scratch the pods, just need the skirts...Does anyone know if the GTR item is a straight fit for GTT?

On another note, I have my 34 GTR rear pods in FRP for sale from this GB - same as GTRSean's above. PM if interested.

not sure if GTR skirts will fit GTT, Clint.

i will add your sale add to my next GB to help you sell it mate.

Nothing new Jacque :(

i'm gonna order some stuff for my Evo so seeing if anyone else wants in on anything.

Forgot to post in here, but I fitted my cf cooling panel a few weeks ago. Fitment is pretty much spot on, couple of holes were a bit out and two of the bolts could do with a spacer or some washers, but otherwise it is good, much better than I was expecting:

Haven't fitted the headlight intake yet, might do that next week and report back.

Had a bit of time this morning so I got round to this. Unfortunately I have to say the fitment of the headlight intake is woeful. So much so that I don't think I will even bother reinstalling it for track days or Powercruise, it makes the whole car look cheap.

First I had to cut a bit of the intake section off to clear the charcoal canister. No big deal, but anyone that's worked with carbon fibre before will understand why I'd rather avoid having to cut it...

Then the mounting tabs were a fair way out, they only juuust line up enough to drill a hole and get a bolt in. You can also see in this picture how the whole thing sits about 2cm too far forward on the inside (left of picture), but only just lines up (and poorly) on the outside:

A clearer shot of how far forward it sits:

Here you can see how poor the fitment is on the outside edge:

And this is what puts me off reinstalling it. Massive gaps between the headlight and bonnet/front bar. Looks terrible:

A pity because I think it would have looked mighty tough if it wasn't for those gaps:

Also, because there is no mounting tab on the outside edge, the whole thing rattles around a fair bit once bolted in. Could be pretty easily fixed by drilling a whole in the front bar and cable tying it, but I wasn't willing to wreck my front bar considering the thing doesn't look good anyway. Can't say I recommend anyone gets one of these unless you don't care too much how it looks.

thanks for the pics Hanaldo and sorry to hear about the fitment.

is your bonnet fully closed on the last pic?

in this pic;

was there a way you could've moved it back a cm or so?

would it of cleared the cooling panel?

probably drill a hole at the intake and cable tie it above to the hole on the rad support to stop the rattling, so there's no need to drill into your front bar.

I'll ask another member to see how fitment went on theirs as he got one too but in Fibreglass version.

Nah not a problem man, at least the cooling panel fits well and looks awesome :D The headlight intake was just for a bit of fun, unfortunately it didn't work out to well but no biggy :)

The bonnet is fully closed in that last pic, yeh. The gap is terrible I know. As for moving it back, unfortunately not. As you can see, I lined up the outside edge as best I could with the fender. With that lined up, everything else was off. If I tried to line up the inside wedge with the front bar, then the outside edge pushed out. It clears the cooling panel no problem.

As for the rattling, it's the outside edge that moves around a bit and rattles against the fender because there is no mounting tab on that side of the headlight. So I would need to drill a hole in the front bar and cable tie that side of it down so that it is mounted on all sides.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
