Hello All,

Another excited M35 owner here. Here is my story.

After driving company cars (Falcon, Commodore Wagons and Sedans) for 24 years i finally had the reason to buy "my own" car.

Single Dad, 3 girls under 10, Full time care, I need a wagon.

Looking, Looking i find this thing on the internet. STAGEA?? Uhh?

2 months of research and comparison i now have 'my' M35 RS 250t.

WOW. LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I am still yrying to get around this forum (so many stories to read) and will get some pics up soon.

I live in Western Sydney (looking out for you 'Wagonboy") and would like to ask the following. Any recomended suspession guys out this way?

I need some work done and have been to some places that take up to 10 days to quote. (dont wont to be ripped off).

Any advice would be appreciated. Also cant wait to meet some other owners!

Sorry I can't help you with recommendations in Western sydney, but there'll be some nice guy or gal along shortly who can. Look forward to some pics.

Did you buy a fresh import or one already here for a while?

You will find lots of useful threads on here and if you can't start a new one and the helpful fellow stagea owners will contribute lots of information.

Certainly $hits over a commodore or falcon wagon. Commodore and falcon are still trying to make strawberry jam out of pig $hit hence the companies profit are at a all time low.

Why would you buy it when you get so much more value for the same money with a Stagea.

Hey Craig, was good to chat to you yesterday i had seen your Stag parked out the front for a few months wondering when i would spot you :)

what sort of suspention work do you need as i could probably do it for you.

otherwise i buy my parts from either Daleo or Jetwreck.

and local stores would be Jax tyres Penrith or Wholesale Suspension. and then there is always Just Jap out at Kirrawee.

but i do majority of the work on my car myself if i can!!!

It was good to chat to your brother Theo. Looking forward to meeting you as i (like many new owners) have a few Q's. Considering we only live 3 mins away from each other, i'm suprised we havent spotted each other.

      Hang on. Let me get this straight. The desire is to have coilovers, BC in particular, to be MORE comfortable on Sydney roads than stock suspension? Well, that's obviously not right. BCs have crude damping design at the very best, and typically hard spring rates. BC stands for Billy Cart. And then, the desire is to put in some shitty old worn out stockers, to get it blue slipped and then put the BCs back in? And then.....what? Not worry about getting pulled up by the Plod? Because you seem to have raised a worry about paying for engineering (which actually does solve all your legality problems) and still getting pulled up.... but the only problem there is that if/when that happens you have to show your paperwork at the inspection station. Whereas, if you just swap in borrowed shitty old stockers to get it slipped now, and then you get defected in the future, you have to go find more shitty old stockers then too. You course of action looks like this set of options: Buy brand new stock type dampers, and springs. probably cost a bit more than $1k all up, but will last for the remaining life of the car. Put them in, pass inspection, drive on them forever more. Hell, they could even be really nice Bilsteins and Kings or other lower&stiffer springs if you wanted. Get the car engineered as is. ~$1k. Buy new Shockworks coilvers (or MCA) and also pay for engineering. You're spending a lot more here. But these will be the best things that you could drive around on.

      Might be worthwhile hitting up Facebook's groups, I know most of them contain terrible people and scammers - however you might be able to find someone that's in Sydney with factory suspension you could purchase and/or hire. Just do not send any form of money anywhere, in person cash only.

      Thanks @Duncan Ride height is fine. I think it's almost stock tbh. Happy to share a pic. I don't actually have a regular mechanic as haven't lived in Sydney too long. Could you or anyone recommend any shops in Sydney?
