Hey guys,

I've been skulking around these forums for a few weeks now ever since I bought my v35.

Thought I'd take the time to post a couple of pics.

She's an 03 model AT with 58kkms on the clock. Fresh import from Japan.

I've gone from my MX5 ^^^^ to this - and it's a bit of a culture shock, different handling and i'm use to manual, but i'm loving it =).

I've already been hit by the mod bug... these forums can be dangerous that way.. =)

I've had the:

1) roof vinyl wrapped in gloss black by carbondemon.

2) The rear lights tinted.

3) Wheels repaired and painted matt black.

I've ordered the following:

1) Cusco 1.5 way AT LSD.

2) Bell Works CF paddle shifters.

3) Iphone ash tray dock.

4) Motordyne Plenum Spacer Kit

5) JWT pop charger

6) Ztube Intake

7) Grounding Kit

8) Blackvue DR400G-HD (a little extra insurance).

9) Flip key from the states.

Potential future purchases:

1) Headlights - the passenger light leaks.

2) Transgo Shift Kit.

3) Matt black wrap???

4) Looking at superchargers ... =)

So far everything has gone smoothly except I have a noise in the rear axles when taking off - ie when the drive train is under stress.

This is my next project to tackle.

Thanks guys!

I won't comment on visual mods (each to their own), but the bang-for-buck winner in your list is the Transgo shift kit. Do that first!

The Works Bell paddle shifts will be more use once that's done.

The earthing kit is controversial (I couldn't pick the difference with stock trans, but my wife could :/), but I'd only say it's worthwhile if you DIY as you can buy the materials for little more than loose change. Spend any more than that & it's a waste of money, IMO.

BTW, your car looks good - I've always liked the black on white on the V35's.

Welcome!

The rear axle click is common, you can find the fix here: http://www.infinitiscene.com/forum/threads/10337-Rear-axle-click-fix

I haven't carried out this myself, but it doesn't seem like you will cause any damage until you get it fixed.

looks good buddy! I havent heard anything about the shift kit / paddle shifters.. got any links?

Transgo Shiftkit is meant to be awesome for auto's, i have heard it churps right through to 3rd lol. I think it just speeds up auto shifts, not sure though i have a manual.

Thanks guys. I'm happy with the car.

What sort of vinyl was used for your roof & tails? i am wanting to do the roof too but i don't want to buy shit stuff that will just peel off.

I believe it was 3m scotchprint vinyl. I am extremely happy with the result and would fully recommend it.

The company who did it http://carbondemon.com.au/ - his wife and him do all the wrapping. They have a superb 350z in matt black, and a mini cooper in matt / red.

I bought the paddle shifters off this website. http://www.tunersgroup.com/Online_Store/Works_Bell_Column_Shifter.html

Took a while to arrive, but I've got them in my study ready to install now =).

When I first got the car I was able to chirp it in second... but no longer =( - the transgo shift kit will be a must especially if I get rid of the mx5 and start taking this beast to the track.

    • Update: tested my spark plugs that are supposed to be 5ohms with a 10% deviation and one gave me a 0 ohms reading and the rest were 3.9ohm<, so one bad and the others on their way out.
    • 9" wheels are a little too wide for a RWD 32. They can fit. People have put R33 GTR wheels on 32s for years and years. But they are a very tight squeeze. This has been known for about 30 years. As I said - there is no difference between a 17 and an 18 in terms of what will fit. The rolling diameter needs to stay about the same as stock - not very much larger. If you increase that, you will start to have problems. If you increae rolling diamater at the same time as yo increase width, you will have problems earlier. as 9" wheels are pushing the boundaries already, you would need to be careful with tyre choice. I would put 8.5s on the front of mine, but would expect problems with 9s.

    • Diagnostic flow for a code 21 says check signal at the ECU pins, on a voltmeter of some kind it should read 0.1V at idle, 0.12V cranking, 0.15-0.25V at 2000 rpm. Check each coil such that +1, -3 is infinite or very high resistance, -3, +2 should do the same. (-1, +3), (+3, -2), (+1, -2), and (-1, +2) should all be somewhere between 0 ohms and high resistance. If you trace the path from the coil pin all the way back to the ECU in the diagram the resistance you measure at the coil vs connected to the harness should be pretty much the same.
    • I have an elite 2500 running an adapter harness on an rb25de neo r34. I took the butterfly out and removed all that junk. But I also went Plus+t at the same time. The butterfly thing works in reverse to the boost solenoid on the Gtt if that makes sense
