Anyone on here playing this?

More importantly anyone playing with a wheel on PS3? My Logitech Driving Force GT makes the car nearly undriveable, feels like it has loads of understeer, So far its ruining the game for me a bit.

I'm sure its not just my lack of skill

read the codemasters forum,

i think there is an update to fix this.

gameplay is definitely different from 2011, and had to get use to it all over again, i was understeering heaps at the beginning but now have got use to the gameplay and im driving normal now.

using the DFGT but on PC.

awesome graphics and gameplay, i love it!

I worked out my issue with the steering wheel.

In 2011 you could just yank the wheel full to the left/right and it would just steer as hard as it could

in 2012 if you do this it will understeer, you have to use more of a shallow turn of the wheel the faster you go. My mistake to start off with, and now that I'm used to it I really like it, makes it a bit more real

At the start I was struggling on Professional but now I think I might have to go back to Legend. There's a few things that aren't on the game that should be, like being able to watch the practice/qualifying sessions

But all in all its am improvement over F1 2011

Just chiming in here that I've been really into F1 2012 lately. Like most of you I struggled with the understeer compared with F1 2011 initially but a few tweaks to the setup on my G25 and I've gotten the hang of it now.

Have been throwing the car around a bit lately in Korea, India and now Abu Dhabi :D

Started playing again last week after not touching it for months... Career mode, driving for force india in my first season... On Pro I can't get anywhere near the AI, but one skill level down (intermediate I think?) and I'm smashing them consistently by 2-3 seconds a lap. The gap between the 2 skill levels is too big imo...

I'm using a controller though, so I don't think it's possible to drive very well with it when you can't really regulate braking/acceleration/turning... Anyone else gone from controller to wheel and noticed a massive difference in their times?

    • Alrighty, I'll have to grab a couple pics and type out something soon in another post. I haven't driven a modern X no, this would be the first one really. Yeah the rental boxes are always cheap as chips right? So I'd doubt that anyone was handing out GTs to go and abuse. But I s'pose I could be wrong for sure. New cars these days though? Pretty unimpressed with what I see now; 20 years and all that, like you said. It just kind of worked out to have these two cars now. I'm pretty pleased with that, don't need much else. I'm sure you lads are right about the temps and for sure, you wouldn't have much time to drive 'em down there if you all were like me. I do hate sweating all over the seats though😆
    • Let large companies that are making money off selling kits do the preliminary engineering for you. If they all do -10, then that is all you'll ever need.
    • Hopefully it ends up being something manageable, like a hone, rather than a full bore—it would be a huge relief if it’s not as bad as it looks. Hang in there; these setbacks are annoying, but it sounds like you’re handling it as smartly as possible.
    • At the end of the day, it’s all about understanding the odds and being comfortable with the potential cost, whether it’s horsepower on a build or chips on a roulette table. And I have to say, the Laine example made me laugh—some people really do embrace that carefree, “roll and see” attitude!
    • Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.
