If you can't get it into diagnostic mode, it is most likely because you are missing a sensor required to actually put it into diag mode. The most common of these is the steering angle sensor. If you have a non-original steering wheel on it, and it doesn't have a HICAS compatible hub, then you get no steering angle reading, HICAS faults, but because you need to move the wheel to input the diag mode sequence, you can't get in.

So, if that's the case, you need to go to a mechanic that has a decent scan tool that can access the HICAS computer through the consult port, and see what the computer has to say for itself.

Original steering wheel is on it. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. :/

OR, get a hicas lock bar and remove the bolt

Not what I asked, Maybe I want HICAS?

That's obviously a lie, but I don't like shit broken and I'd rather find out what wrong with it before I go locking it.

do you know what hicas is?

It's the system that when going above a speed (80km's I believe) It activates 4 wheel steer, (minimal change in the rear about 5%)

I'm well aware of what it does, I'm well aware of how annoying it is, I'm well aware of how to get rid of it.

But I'm not aware of why my light is constantly on and that's really all I want to know at the current moment.
