Yeah maybe take it to a tuner and let them check the air to fuel ratios just to make sure.

My stock computer was running 13 psi and never blew a head gasket. Stock tune with stock or close to stock boost shouldn't cause an issue at all.

Wear and tear could be a factor maybe the the person before you gave the car a thrashing

Could have had a hard life like alot of skylines, but strangely enough my bottom end looked really good, and the fact that the head had never been taken off the car or touched before was also a good sign :)

Was thinking of picking up some shell helix hx7 to rum through the car before filling with motul, should be fine running cheaper stuff for that purpose yeah?

Its $20~ odd at super cheap ;) wonder if anybody actually runs that oil ...

I have done it before just to give it a good clean out. Run some shit oil for 100km or so and just don't thrash it at all. Dump that and top up with quality stuff

Right now I have been running penrite 10/30 or 15/30 for about $50 per 5L and the car likes it.

I just change it about every 3-4 thousand ks

Going in for a tune tomorrow, I've got -7s on it.

Still hearing some hissing, horrible noise is gone so was the timing belt. Oil is staying clean.

Just gotta find this vacuum leak. Any pointers or common leak areas?

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
