I think you'll find any aftermarket add-on which can cause injury to a pedestrian will be deemed illegal and open you to a defect. If I could be bothered, I'm sure I could find the relevant road rules about body modification,s but TBH I can't. I've been around long enough to know that what you are proposing is most likely against the rules in pretty much every state int he country.

I got pulled over a couple months back for speeding and told that my GoPro which I had stuck to the front of my bike between the headlights was illegal as it's a hazard. I think a carbon fibre blade would do more damage than a GoPro. I also got defected in my Datsun 1600 once cause I'd removed one of the driving lights to make a CAI and the copper was concerned that if I hit a pedestrian his/her hand could go up it causing a greater injury. Cutting out the bottom of a milk crate and sticking it in the hole fixed that one.

Need some advice on front canards.

I am thinking of fitting Varis style carbon fibre front canards to my Evo 9. Is this legal?

What does the ADR rules state? Will I get defected by Police?

Any advice given will be much appreciated.

Not legal and will atract the man !!

Ped safety is silly how many people get hit that it needs to be such a issue

How about those chrome monster bull bars with fishing rod holders to core sample you

Or trailer balls to cain your knee in a parking lot as you walk past thats more dangerous !!

How many ped vs cars are just drunks ??

rule makers are pathetic in this country

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
