FOR SALE

Bronze Rays TE37's with MIchelin Pilot Sport Cups - great track wheel/tyre setup

Wheels

Size: 18x10 +18

Colour: Bronze

Condition: reasonable, a couple of the rims have slight rashing

Original: Yes

Year of manufacture: 2005

Tyres

Size: 265/35 R18

Condition: One Marulan track day (maybe about 4-5 sessions), including return trip there

Photos attached showing wheels, Rays sticker, tread depth and all that stuff....also pics of same size wheels fitted to an R34 GTR.

Wheels are located in the inner west of Sydney, and would prefer a local pick-up.

Looking for $3,800, which I think is fair given the cost of the tyres and the limited track time they've seen.

PM or SMS me on 0407778421

Cheers.

I believe Rays has increased their rims price by over 50%. Not sure if the price escalation has been passed through to suppliers but the same set of rims now would have cost more than 3.5k imported. I remembered paying around 51k Yen each for the rim in 2011 and they're now 82k Yen each on Ray's website. The dollar has gone up significantly by 20-25% which is good for offseting the price escalation, but still be not enough to cover 50%!

18x9.5 +22's are $3.3k delivered. Michelin pilot sport cups are about $2.5-3.0k. Combined is $5.8-6.3k.

So it's about 40% off at $3.5k. Plus the MyChron timer. Value!

Interesting!

I noticed yesterday Nick that there's a very nice Pearl Black R34 GTR being complied at JLM (JapLink Motors).

If you asked Todd to leave a Memo for the owner that your wheel/tyre combo is on offer, I think this deal would be tempting when you consider Bronze TE37s on a Pearl Black body!!!

Hi Terry

That lucky owner of the black R34 happens to be me!:yes::no: I'm crossing my fingers that compliance is all sorted before the June long weekend so i can take her on a nice romatic journey.

Nick, I got your message from JLM, unfortunately I can't commit to the wheels right at this moment as my first priority is a proper alarm system. If the wheels are still here in a month or two then I'll be all over it!

Cheers

Dave

No worries Dave. Let me know when you're in a position to think about it.

I got an autowatch alarm from Security in Motion. Leon was great and the system works well. Built in turbo timer too.

Ok Dave & Nick: I remember when I was on really tight budgets.

Congratulations Dave on a very lovely GTR!

I'm happy too that at least there's friendly dialogue :)

Thanks Terry, I have Iron Chef to thank for finding me a fantastic example :-)

Great info Nick, I've heard some great things about Sec In Motion, so will be calling Leon asap!

This is what SAU should be about, great dialogue, networking and community

Just a reminder, these are original TE's and the tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport Cups!

Will swap for R34 GTR Haltech Platinum Pro, Flex Fuel Sensor and Injectors., or $3,300

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
