Better not put it on Mats car.... you know, unless you like footage shot of the car park from a trailer.... :whistling:

Sonofabitch....... Too true tho :(

I really need to check this forum more often. I'm a month late!

I just sent first timer payment, form is incoming. Do I need to print the document, sign it and scan it, or can I just save it as PDF?

Hopefully I'm in.. So now to buy a helmet and figure out how to mount the fire extinguisher I just bought.

Why didn't this fill up on the first day?

If you put it on FeZ25s car put it away from the roof as that's where the car will end up lolz

hahaha i'll make a gag reel

Oh I paid full amount & I'm a first timer.

Don't mind paying the full, might be bringing my girlfriend along for some passenger rides, can my extra tenner cover that too?

Yep - I'll make a note.

If you want, fill in the PDF and email it to [email protected] - good enough for me.

Not sure why; maybe a long weekend thing? We usually have pretty good attendance. It's one of the cheapest track days you can get - we've heard from other clubs in other states that they're running these days for > $100 and they fill up instantly... Maybe we're all just tightarses in NSW :P

Yeah, Owen I think your right.

Maybe something for the execs to discuss the calendar. I remember last year one was over the Bathurst weekend. Long weekend doesn't do us an favours.

It is the reason i didnt attend the last one... Too scared to drive to the event! However i am going to tow it there this time to avoid any hassles :woot:

it was the only weekends they would give us :(

Well that is fair enough! At the end of the day its an event and we are lucky to have them

Yep, unfortunately there's very few places anywhere around Sydney to do this type of event - we tried to book around September last year for this year's events, and could only get long weekends, that's how hard it is to get dates (will be looking into booking next year's stuff pretty soon then!).

(incoming explanation/rant)

It sucks, but unfortunately we can only do the best with what we've got. We try and run these events at absolute break even to keep the costs down and attendance high. There was recently an increase in fees for entrants, a small fee for passengers and also costs for food/drink as we can supply; this is because our cost of hiring the venue has gone up by about 30-40% in the last 2 years. We tried to absorb the cost last year by having 40 entrants per day, but it was giving people the shits because people weren't getting enough runs, so we dropped it down to 35 and then 30 (from memory) so that everyone gets heaps of runs, has heaps of fun. It's just unfortunate that we need to charge a little more to break even instead of running at a loss. We'd love to do it, but it's just unsustainable, especially that everyone involved in running the days give their time voluntarily.

Good rant Owen! The venue is good and the costs involved are understandable! I think the pricing is awesome value for the day you get.... I guess a venue like that is pretty hard to find but will keep an eye out ;) Do you know how many spots are booked vs available? I can do some promoting with a few guys that may be keen (Non SAUers)

Will check it out tomorrow night and then PM you - I think we're holding off on saying until there's only a few spots left because of the logistical nightmare of last-minute rushes :)

Fair enough- that's unfortunate. All good points there by Owen too. I think its a great event, the price is very reasonable. I know, as a volunteer, its a hard event to run and keep ticking over. Thank you guys.

And on that note we all have to thank the guys that put their hand up to help out! I remember the last one had the guys running flat out all day in the sun :)

shouldn't be much if any hassle fitting a fire extinguisher.

how is the bottom part of the back seat held down on a v35, is there a bolt?

if not, you can use a simple piece of aluminium between the passenger seat bolts like we did in the leaf.

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
