Hey guys,

Bought a stock sunroof of a wrecking 34 hoping to install it on my 34. Wondering if anyone has put a sunroof in their car before, if it worked, what was the process and costs involved etc...

I'm also curious if all cars came off the line prepared to have a sunroof installed, or if each chassis had their own process through production depending on what extras they were going to have installed.

All advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Cheers,
- Josh

I wouldn't suggest DIYing... Because your car was made without a sunroof, cutting a hole in your roof yourself will compromise the integrity of the shell.

Best to take it to a sunroof installer to do, but some of them might not allow BYO sunroofs lol. A brand new sunroof at those places can cost anywhere from $2000 to $4000.

If you want a sunroof... Either buy a R34 with a factory sunroof or pay $2000 or so to get a Hollandia installed properly and with warranty :P

But sunroofs just makes the car more heavy, roof lower and the chassis less rigid

EDIT: Also, if not installed properly, roof can leak and rust can occur :)

I'm wondering... There is some form of frame on 34's with a factory sunroof. Did they roll them all out with this bracket in case they were going to get the sunroof, or only optioned models got the bracket? Because the bracket extends all the way down into the B pillar. Not keen on taking my roof lining off and getting disappointed haha, might google it before I do.

but i already have a 34. i don't think i could go through the headaches of selecting and finding and buying another car...not to mention i already know the condition of the one i have now, and i just couldn't handle the uncertainties of another one hahahahahhahaha

fark that 2000$ i could spend on other things. sunroof would be lovely but definitely unnecessary!

Well yeah, if you wanted a sunroof, you shoulda bought one with one, but if you didn't and you want one.... It's really not worth it... It's pretty much the same having both windows open hahahaha

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
