hey dudes, i am a bit of a lurker around here, so i thought i better put up my own car. i apologise in advance for some of the photo's. some are good. some not so much.

i am coming up on 2 years off ownership next month. when i first got it :

i just fiddle for the first months and loved the shit out of driving it

then i did a drift day :

loved it. car was awesome and i didnt break anything.

then i put a roll cage and bride in. and did another drift day

by this point, i'd put 14/12kg springs and lowered it and all that jazzz, i had a fun day but the car sorta lost that feel that it had. oh yeah i also did this

spun on the entry, and as you can see went backwards in the wall. its kinda hard to explain the damage, but basically the wheel caught on the wall snapping the lca and doing a number on the front corner.

fast forward a long long long 12 months and it got a new turbo and 25 box and some other basics

521976_10200547355740049_43734131_n.jpgjust in time for the same day/track as i had the bingle the year before.

had the best time, wasnt without issue though, broke a drive shaft on the drive to the start line in the morning missing the whole morning session waiting for a mate to bring out a replacement. but after that it was on

733831_380158985431360_899865851_n.jpg553022_380159578764634_1393910352_n.jpg66851_10200906552684740_657703408_n.jpg554544_10200906554644789_103740824_n.jpgwas driving fairly loose as it was the first time in twelve months with a new power setup. i found out later it had a finger tight waste gate and a 190rwkw tune due to some time constrants leading up to the day. i had some pretty mad bind issues and a bent rack by the end of the day, but still manage to drove home. at this point i got poor and lazy missing out on a round of the state drift series. but i got it all back in time to do sprint day at symmons plains.

i dont have any photos of the this, but basically the night before i decided i want to have a crack! changed nothing at all, so still not front sway bar and mismatched 2ndhandies on the back. i had a fair bit of fun and ended up with a 67 flat around there. we didnt get a whole lot of laps which was a bit shit in the end.

around this time i changed the vskf's for a all time favourite wheel of mine

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
