You went all the way down to see Matty Spry and didn't swing pass to say hi????

I also went to bed late paying for it now :/

Sorry to hear about your mates car Scottie.

What power did it make before she gave way?

534rwhp through a 3spd auto box on 28psi... Reading doesnt do it justice. Its quicker than my car

Unfortunately, when you do this with old engines, something inevitably goes bang.

Correct, If it didnt break on the dyno. No doubt we would have broke it on the drive home lol

It is what it is

Not necessarily. It's under strain on the dyno. You could have been fine on the way home and then blown it at QR. Good luck getting back to Bribie form there!

He would have given it a full boot on the way home on highway for sure. Loves going fast too much. But yeah either way would have blown last night or at Downshift on Sunday morning. Which wouldnt have been great for me as I have to go to work afterwards on sunday

Lol. Fair enough. At least you have red bull.

Cruisung up a long hill in a high gear is also possibly more load than a lap at QR. Also being on the dunno is not inherently strenuous, for power runs the ramp rate is low and it's under very little load! LEAVE DYNOS ALONE *cries*

Morning all, trying to get a half day at work I'm f**ked between doing massive hours, trying to cut and lifting last night I'm f**ked :(

Redbull fo life

I know i feel ashamed of myself. I cant justify $5 for a 355ml can of Redbull.

V was 4 pack of 250L for $7

If it was from a standing start, instead of a rolling start where every single factor is in your favor, you should be worried about his powah, but I will say one thing for you, you choose your battles well!

Wonder why he tries to line me up then.. Delusional?

Thinking like Nick here, and it is scary, but I imagine he is hoping you will miss a gear, then he will never race you again :P

This actually happened at Downshift last month.. .Missed 3rd so he had me at half track. Got him back by the end though... Damn kids and there Auto V8's

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
