Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Shocks, springs, sway bars and bump stops are good. Everything else i would be going adjustable arms (you can get adjustable arms with rubber bushes rather than spherical bearings). The sub frame alignment kit http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=KCA349 why would he recommend that rather than just replacing the 20 year old bushes?

Also what about the diff mounts, rear lower control arm bushes, bushes in the rear hubs/uprights and more i can't think of now. There are a lot of parts he has left out.

was going to get diff mounts, bushes after mate. As the coilovers and sway bars are more of a priority for me FTM.

Mr Ants, I recommend not doing coilovers and swaybars at the same time.

Makes for a really harsh ride. If your coilovers have hard spring rates, leave stock swaybars in and see how it feels. Likewise, if you have stiff swaybars, chuck them in and maybe go for a softer coilover.

Have a gingerbeer coming out on Thurs arvie Scotty, hopefully can get a roady and rego before the weekend. If so, I might get to the dyno day ;)

oh! I will take that under advisement.

Side note my garage door farked itself last nite.......can't even manually lift the door as it's 100kg and my powerlifting days are well and truly over.

Have to fork out money to repair it now so suspension needs to wait + the Jannica's car and the Ant-eater is stuck for now

Interesting...

The new F1's make 130ish dB. Down from the mid 140's of the V8's but far from quiet. Is it just the turbrah that kills the noise?

I don't care what the numbers say, there is no comparison. I went a few years ago and you NEEDED ear plugs. I didn't take any thinking "bah, I've heard race cars before, I won't need them". I was f*cking wrong and luckily I was able to get some at the track.

They had one old V8 there (RB7) doing the ultimate speed comparison and even just that one running was borderline on wanting to block your ears, but with all 22 of the new ones running you don't even get close to needing them.

dB is a logarithmic scale so a change of 10-15 is significant. But it's not just the volume but the nature of the sound, the old ones sounded just glorious while the new ones sound... agricultural?

I would not be complaining too much about the noise reduction Marty......you have been lucky enough to witness several F1 events live, whilst others have never seen them or may never get the opportunity to see them fly past at full blast

Oh shit. You called him Marty... You in for it now!

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
