Hi. I'm looking for a divice (unit)that can launch my R33 GTR off the line much easier or more consistant. I seem to cant get a consistent launch everytime. I have done a bit of reading and found that the power FC pro works, but super hard to find. The next that came up is the Bee R launch controller. But the best so far that I can tell would be the gizzmo launch interface unit. Before I go ahead and purchase the unit I would like to hear from any of you concerning the pros and cons that you may have learnt using any one of the above mentioned units. And the idea of launching with boost is just a bonus.

I don't drive my car to often and run it around 10 to 14 psi. The motor is fully stock with the exception of a 6 boost manifold GT3582R turbo with twin 38mm gates. Fuel pump and rail. FMIC, along with a power fc. L- Jetro. It's has most of the supporting mods for power other than injectors.

I leaning towards the gizzmo launch interface. And was wondering if it can work on my car using the power i have. If so does anyone have a wiring diagram i can look at before i go ahead and buy it.

Hmm. I heard of this. But what do you mean when you say bash the limiter. Sorry i don't understand the term. I can understand it's bad for the turbo, but can't see the motor getting hurt other than wear wise.

what is the way the Bee R limiter and Gizzmo control cause motor failure. More importantly why is all the stand alone like motec, halter, and so on safer than the Gizzmo or haltech? ??

The method with your foot that you mention is riding the clutch to load the car so that it can start boosting at a the starting line before you let it go.???

Limiter bashing is just holding the engine at maximum revs against the rev limiter for extended periods - can result in oil pump failure>engine failure.

Some of the more modern ecus have launch control as an option - just read their websites.

Thanks for clearing that up. I do understand that more modern ecus have launch control, but that's not safe eather is it. Cause its still bashing it. ???

But people seems to like the bashing more on an ecu stand point than running a unit to control it like the gizzmo launch interface. ???

So in shirt you guys are telling me it's not good for the motor. But it doesn't mean I want to use it all the time. I just wanted to use it when the big money is being bet. Lol.

So saying that. If I had to choose which one would work the best or you would recommend.

I don't have it so I don't claim to be an expert on it. If you Google you will find a few variations on ways of achieving it.

Hopefully someone who has a good launch control system will tell you about theirs!

The PFC Pro was just a standing limiter with ignition cut rather than the standard one which is just a hard limiter in a way, simple in nature but quite effective.

You can set it to "7000rpm" say, and hold the pedal flat to the floor. Until you gained road speed it would leave the limit there, perfect launch almost every time once you find the right RPM to launch so it doesn't bog. My 60fts would vary a max of .05 of a sec and that's more just surface than anything.

So for GTR owners, it works very well for the money if you can find out. Just set the RPM, let the clutch out and cut cat GTR action ensues, I loved it and used it ALL the time.

Wouldn't work that well for a RWD application if you're talking 300rwkw or more you really need something that will limit boost vs gear/RPM and so on which is something a PFC Pro cannot do.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?

    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
