Hey guys I'm doing an ls1 swap with a t56 transmission. I'm from Canada and apparently there is nobody that has done this swap over here so I was just wondering if I could get a heads up of what I'm going to have to do such as, widening the transmission tunnel, starter position, header mods to fit steering shaft and engine and transmission mounts.

All input and pictures of swap would be amazing

Thanks

there's a few getting around - the S13, 14 and FC / FD swaps are fairly common over in the US though and have commercially available kits.

There's also a few guys on here doing conversions - Captain Natro has an R33 with an auto. I'd say you'd need custom engine mounts, headers and tailshaft for starters, but I've seen LS engines in HR31 - R34 so it'll fit!

Somebody's had to have done this...help me out pleaase[/qquote

So you are going to do a conversion, but want someone to spell it all out for you?

The engine will fit in there, but as to how figure it out yourself.

It's not rocket science, it is achievable.

Thanks to all the helpful people.

As for Superben...instead of being an idiot with a sarcastic remark, maybe not answering at all would have been the best thing to. Just looking for opinions seeing as that's what forums are for but thanks for waking up with your panties in bunch!

My remark isn't sarcastic. It's a fact.

Never the less, I'm sure that you will be able to do the conversion. The fact that people have done it before you is pretty much all of the info you need.

It's obvious that you would need custom engine mounts, trans cross member and tailshaft.

If the firewall or tunnel needs massaging you won't be able to do it off of dimensions anyway, you need to try and fit the engine and go from there.
