Hi,

I've been having issues lately with my r34 gtt cluster intermittently not working. I.e the speedo, tachometer and heater needles not functioning whilst driving then coming back on randomly after 10 min or so.

It started off with a low idle cold start, to which I believe is a coolant temp sensor issue (replacement sensor on order). This was about the same time i noticed the cluster playing up.

I noticed the check engine light come on so I tried to plug in ecutalk to check codes but none were shown.

Anyone have similar issues? If so, what did you do to resolve this?

I will try taking apart the cluster to have a look over the weekend. It's an auto cluster if that matters.

Car is converted to manual and ran faultlessly for months

The lights for the cluster all remain on and ok.

I read somewhere it could be related to alternator not producing 12v or something like that. I havent checked the voltage gauge but i will do that next time. I dont have any trouble starting or anything.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Ok, so i plugged in the ecutalk again and got an error code.

Vehicle speed sensor.

I have not yet run the car with ecu talk to check if im able to get a speed reading from the ecu, but that will be my next step and would dictate where i should focus my attention

Ok, issue has been resolved.

I plugged in the ECUtalk and wasnt able to get a speed reading. Still got error code: vehicle speed sensor.

I checked the wiring for my speed sensor I made when I did the auto-manual conversion. It turns out they were making contact!

After a quick re-arrangement and crimping of new connectors, everything works well again. yay!
