Hi guys,

I tried to search for the answer to this relatively simple question, but had no luck.

I'm just wondering what the standard camber would be on a r33. Mine has been lowered and consequently the insides of the tyres are paying for it since the negative camber has been increased.

I am purchasing the whiteline control arm camber adjustment kits and getting them installed through pedders suspension.

Pedders had a look today and said that my current camber is 1.7 and 1.8 on the fronts and 2.5 and 2.7 on the back. WHat would they have been standard? I am trying to work out whether i should buy two adjustment kits for the back, as they only give you .75% adjustment.

Any thoughts?

Any relatively immediate help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Jeremy

Jeremy your camber doesn't seem extreme to me....did pedders say what toe-in you have on the front wheels? you may find you have a problem with toe not camber.

The rear does sound a little high to me, I think 2.0 would be heaps...

Thanks for the reply.  No, toe is not the problem.  I have ruled that out.

Does anyone know what are standard specs for camber and toe on the r33?

Thanks again in advance...

Regards,

Jeremy

What I have read in the past, most people try to run about 1/2 deg neg on the rear which helps with traction and tyre wear.

My car is lowered about 2 inches running currently about 2.0 neg on the rear. I still get tyre wear and lack of traction.

I have bought a set of camber bushes, but did not get around to fitting them as they only give upto .75 adjustment.

Instead of buying 2 kits , I have bought a pair of rose jointed arms that can give as much adjustment as you want. To install 2 kits is a pain in the arse, the outer bush is mounted in the stub axle which makes removal of the old bush harder as they need to be pressed out.

You can get them from Aust. companys for about $400-500 or can get some from the USA ebay for about $250-275 new delivered. they are the same arms as S14 and S15 silvia.

I think the adjustable arms are a better option given that you can get alot more adjustment and alot quicker and cheaper to install as it is simple as removing 2 bolts and bolting the new arms.

My 2 cents

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
