valf
Hey, been looking for similar problems on the forum but wasn't too sure still. Basically, my m35 stutters when driving slowly and turning tight, happened the first time when doing a U turn and since, when I am parking/reversing/... I can take a video of the car doing it if you want to help explaining the problem. I have an extra unrelated question. There is a small switch just behind the panel where the obd2 connector is, anyone would know what it is? Thanks! Thanks! shudder could be because of the "tight corner phenomenon" and the 4wd system but thats just a guess. The switch sounds like it could be to turn on the attesa pump when u need to bleed the system Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7607206 Share on other sites

I've pressed that switch multiple times and not too sure in which position I left it The shudder is quite intense once it starts, is there a way to easily turn off the 4WD to validate that ? All this is just speculation tho, my car has the shudder at full lock too . I guess for the switch you could flick it on and off and listen for your pump under the back right hand side of your car while your car is off. if the pump don't turn on then its not the switch lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7607237 Share on other sites

Brick
Out of curiosity does the car have staggard wheels? Or worn tyres at the rear? No there isn't an easy or safe way. These have a different Awd system to the c34. It is not good for the transfer case. The only way to properly make it rear wheel drive is to pull the front drive shaft Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7607287 Share on other sites

Lakes101
Where do the wires in it run to? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7607780 Share on other sites
valf
Took the car for a ride and couldn't get it to shudder again so no video yet of it.. For the switch, I tried to follow the cables ( red and black+red) and they go up in the ride side of the steering wheel in the dash. Maybe it's related to the alarm or something. The car also has this little remote to start it from outside (which doesn't work). The switch is definitely not stock as it was fitted with screws in two holes in the lower dash just above the pedals. Can't see any light turning on/off when playing with it. Lakes101
Have you tried turning it on then using the remote you just mentioned? Brick
If the switch is down above the brake pedal it is most likely the factory option remote start. That is where the master switch is for it. Mine has the same switch Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7608261 Share on other sites
valf
Looks like this remote? Maybe the battery is dead or so then in it. The little red led only turns on when pressing the middle button, not with the start/stop ones. Brick
I never got the remote with my car. I just done some research to find out what the switch was for. Mine has a silver sticker above it with Japanese writing. Had it translated and yeah it is remote start Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7608269 Share on other sites
valf
Ha! That's it then, got the same sticker so that's sorted out ! I'll get a video when the car shudders again and put it here, should help with the troubleshooting. Weird that it doesn't happen every time (maybe only when really hot, will have to test) 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459868-low-speed-turns-stutter-and-unrelated-question/#findComment-7608272 Share on other sites
