so after about two years of sitting i fired up the old girl and she idles for a while then just shuts off, starts again then just stops again,. she has near new plugs, new coils and new fuel pump. any ideas?

Need to tell whether it is a Fuel problem or Ignition issue.

1. Fuel.

Connect a fuel pressure gauge in filter line. See what happens to the pressure when the car shuts down.

2. Ignition.

Get a timing light and connect it. Wait for the car to shut down and try to restart it and if the light does not flashwhen you try to restart it is an ignition issue.

when engines sit for a while the oil drains out the head so the lifters dont work too well, drain your oil and replace.

Try cleaning the pins on the ignition module

Had the same issue on my rb25. Changed coil packs and spark plugs and still idled rough. Problem went a way slightly when i cleaned the AAC valve and completely when i replaced the MAF sensor.
