RB20det suspected ignitor issue

Hey guys,

Got a bit of an issue in my 32. It's running a fairly stock rb20 and has been running fine until recently. The problem occurs when the car has been driven for sometime, parked for a while, and then turned on again. It seems the engine doesn't get spark, so it turns over but dies straight away.

Initially I thought it could be my leaky injectors, however the problem still occurs. However, the car is still somewhat drive able and holds idle at 1.5k rpm. When driving like this, the engine tends to slightly misfire, and even backfires occasionally.

Researching online, a few people who had similar symptoms pointed towards the ignitor module failing. However, I'm thinking that since the issue seems to only occur when the engine is warm, that it may be the coil packs playing up.

Would there be any way to check these parts before I go out and spend a bit of cash to get some replacements?

Hopefully some of you guys can point me in the right direction.

Regards,

Henry
