Hi all. Apologies for the noob question but will i benefit from using the stock r33 gtst vlsd ?

I am still using a ER33 chassis auto rear differential.

Should i bother swapping the vlsd or just repair my stock one?

I'm also not 100% sure if it will fit plug and play anyway.

Btw i don't do any drifting at all.

Just want to know if i should bother at all?

VLSD is marginally better than an open diff.  But I wouldn't put any effort into transplanting one instead of a proper LSD.

Also, if that ^ is an NA diff and is 3x2 bolt, then you will need different 5 bolt driveshafts also (to suit a Skyline's VLSD).  You may find it easier to shop amongst the S13/14 people if you want an LSD that can connect to your existing driveshafts.

NA or turbo car?  For NA cars it is almost always the case the shorter gearing will improve acceleration.  The only times that it doesn't are where you would need to fit in one more gear change to reach a certain speed and that may or may not make the time taken to get there longer.

That is sometimes also true for turbos.  Sometimes not.  In general, turbos like load.  Longer gears can get the load up on the engine earlier, making more gas flow, making the turbo work earlier, making more speed.

Turbo engine with NA auto rear differential. Funny u mention boost as i hit full boost quite late. But then again i have a shitty vtc plug so i can't confirm till i go for another remap...
