Brake size R33 ECR33

I'm looking at buying some new calipers and wondered if the calipers off a R33 ECR33 that match a 296x30mm rotor were matching 296mm rotors because of the caliper mounting holes or the knuckles holes?

Not sure what you're asking, but the caliper mounts a certain way to accept the 296mm rotor (as well as have the appropriate openings in the caliper). What are you trying to achieve? The R33 4pot will bolt onto most Nissan 100mm spaced hubs.

i guess another way of asking it is -

does the diameter of the rotor used by the r33 decided by where the holes are on the knuckle making the caliper sit out further

or

does the diameter of the rotor used by the r33 decided by how long the calipers bolt hole supports are

hopefully that makes sense.

 

in another words, are the r32 gtst and R33 ECR33 calipers basically the same?

Calipers are same, hub mounts are different, i believe. R34 calipers have longer leg to make them sit further out and take 310mm disc.
