I was comming home from a night out on saturday night and I was followed by the police from the cross roads south road intersection bridge thing all the way to the tapleys burbridge intersection. I was definately follwed as i was taking detours along the way, i had nothing to hide anyway. Does this sort of thing happen to others often?

I get that a fair bit, been followed about 8 or 9 times, only pulled over once becasue I failed to stop completley at a stop sign

I think its par for the course these days, there are so many f*wits with imports now doing stupid shit, the cops are keeping a eye out for all imports

Just a case of a few people spoiling it for everyone else

Chris

It is because of a few that things are always ruined, but the other other reason that i think they follow people is. It makes them nervous and therefore they crack under the pressure, giving the police a reason to pull you over and issue you with infringment notices. police are becoming more like salespeople for the government eveyday, and just need to meet thier quotas. sad really.

Yer, then WHY THE F*K do people post SHIT on here like on the last crusie that happened...DONT race through the hills, DONT drift on the road, DONT talk about it at all on the open forums.

Its F U K W I T S in SA who talk about "pulling up the handbrake and end up facing the wall" that are spoiling the import car scene for ALL of us. Like it or not, if i see you doing shit in the Adelaide hills, lookout, cos i'll personally F U K u and your car if you cause an accident. I cant stand people on here talkiing shit, then turn around and say "why do the police hassle us"

Use your F U K N brains....if you got any to start with....

Hail that brother blackr32

Yep this happens to me, just the other day in fact.. its usually the chick cops that follow me tho..

I drive to the nearest shopping centre, park the car and go shopping for 30 minutes.. the cops generally will wait up to 10 minutes.. after that.. they get bored.. yes, its a waste of 30 minutes, but its better than regency and i get to shop!

:werd: living in the hills, I see a fair bit of this. Just makes it worse for everyone else. I am all for a 'spirited' drive through the hills, but stupid shit causes nothing but trouble for EVERY import driver

:werd: Ive read many post from other sa car forums about imports drivers either drifting or street racing /chased by cops and then as why cops hate us or why there are defect/rbt stations set up intensionly to catch us.

i was followed by a cop the other week on south RD (Melrose PK) to Hindmarsh...stayed on my tail for ages, even when i changed lanes...freaked me out cos my car was low. had to quickly cut off onto Port RD to lose him. then i did a Uturn back on South Rd and found that he had pulled over a Mazda 626. i think he was pissed off that he missed me so he pulled over some other guy

i guess they follow ya to see whether u have anything defectable on ur car. they wind down the window to hear any BOV sounds.

I have had my 32 for a year now and have never been followed by the cops. Ive been pulled over twice but both for legit reasons but never defected, eventhough my car is a rolling defect machine. They only looked for BOV's didnt even care about my big unsecured pod filter And it's not like my car looks stock. A big FMIC and white 18" speedstars make it stand out a bit.

a mazda 626, now that is pathetic.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
