Howdy every1,

Finally decided to spend a significant amount of money (for myself anyway) on the car and was needing advice on where to source the following parts [at the best price ofcourse] from melbourne area....

These are the parts i have currently:

* 3" exhaust from cat

* safcII

* rsm

* turbo timer

* blitz high-flow panel filter

* ebc green stuff race pads

She's pretty stock as you can see... so looking for advice on parts, i have a fair list already in my head on what i'm doing to both increase hp, but also looks :headspin:

It is a R33 s1 auto... parts i'm looking to buy are:

*Either trust or hks fmic with piping (from nungen)

*apexi avc-r (from nungen)

*Carbon fibre bonnet like one sold through UAS... need to find supplier in Melb

*Veilside rear bumper... need to find supplier in Melb

* A workshop who can repair fibreglass (only minor), respray my front bar and also spray and fit the new rear bumper....

* Also interested in purchasing a new turbo, don't know heaps about the different models, want to make around 210-220kw atleast, any suggestions... had my eye on a hks gt2530 or gt2540 but don't know if there the best or not - must be quick spool.... any help would be great :)

That's about it for the moment.... the other parts i know where to get them and at reasonable prices (eg. new front/dump pipe etc) - mostly concerned with the carbon bonnet and Veilside rear bumper

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

ok, fill try cover some of your point

* Sell you SAF-C & RSM, and buy a PowerFC if you want to do turbo it's the only way to go.

* Also, get a HKS EBC III or IV, dont worry about the AVC-R, HKS items are better.

* Also, exhaust, anywhere in Vic, shop around. Professional Exhaust in Airport West are

cheap, and good workmanship.

* Personally i'd factor in for a manual conversion... then the PFC will work a treat :P

For tuning, ICE Performance best place IMO for you to take your car with what you've got

first i would get a transmission cooler if i were you (keep the auto cool) $80

then i would get a front/dump pipe from BABMBL (check the business for sale section) $240

then i would buy a second-hand FMIC ($500) and get the piping custom made (PM me i got mine done for $250)

then i would agree with the above in that sell your SAFC and RSM and get a better management system. i'm thinking of going to unichip when i get the money as not too many systems work well with the auto

Waz.

Cheers guys,

Already got the trans cooler under control and was looking at the front/dump pipe which is sold through ebay the 'flyn' one..... the intercooler is no problems i don't mind spending the bit extra and getting a complete bolt-on kit.....

I don't know why you are both telling me to sell my safcII and rsm, yet keep the avc-r and get a aftermarket computer for the auto of which none are completely suited for the job... well from searches i've done on the site in the past everyone agrees there in not a auto aftermarket computer which can perform the job to the standard that it can on a manual vehicle...

I'm not doing a conversion from auto to manual.... if i was going to do that i would have bought a manual in the first place??

Anyway, does anyone have an idea on where i can get carbon fibre bonnets in melbourne area, otherwise i'll just pay the extra freight costs and get it sent from UAS in sydney...

Many Thanx :P

adrian

i can get ur turbo rebuilt with bigger wheels n housings (if u want that - cheaper than a 2540 or similar) with a new dump pipe

if ur gonna keep the slushbox a powerfc wont work (can be done but sometimes doesnt work) get a wolf or microtech like my setup - no afm :)

sell the safc2 and rsm

oh n btw i dont want u 2 get a carbon fibre bonnet... i want to b the only 1 in town with one :rofl: - uas cost me 1200 delivered (INASNT may be able to get u cheaper - also he can get the rear bar too)

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
