jmp is right, it needs DivX 5.0.2 codec to view. I've edited the main post to show this.

To all the naysayers about insurance liability:

A police report was made. (Compulsory to claim insurance). Police stopped by the scene for a chat the same night too.

Boostzor reported that he lost control and hit a kerb, causing the damage.

In real life he really did lose control, hitting a kerb which caused the damaged.

Boostzor paided the access, insurance fixed the car and police added their fine and points loss on top. Theres really nothing else to bust him for. Was he speeding? Was he racing? No, he lost control and hit a kerb. I'm happy to let it be a unrestricted download if only to show ppl the dangers of off camber roads :D

I just told em the lights went green and i came round the corner but when i hit second the back end swung out came backa nd hit the curb. Exactly like it happened, im not gonna lie to em cause they will most prolly find out and then id be screwed.

If u notice all the tape on the side where the moulding is missing. That was from the week earlyier when i got it back from the beaters. I got hit by some P plater chick who had a lic for 3 days. I cant really say but i think she pulled out of a left turn lane that was givin way and colided with my ass end and wrote her car off causing aroun 8k damage to mine. She did not attempt to brake or swerve (she had 3 lanes free to play with) but its still my fault, I got a 3point $150 fine and had to pay my monstorous excess but its better than being up for around 12k that has to come out of ure pocket:eek: .

Just to clarify i did not see her neither did the guy in shotgun (shot gun always looks) i didnt eve see it comin till i was facing the other way. Imho if cant afford insurance u cant afford the car:) because after all s**t happens.

Well at least i got all my bad luck out in a month;)

rob: it won't happen :P

nah but seriously, it's like I said - the damage that would be caused wouldn't amount to what I'd have to pay in insurance (from past experience)

I know past experience doesn't count for much since ANYTHING can happen, but if I hit someone yes, I will pay for their damage and mine, obviously. But if you ask for it, you're gonna get it...so I don't exactly go around every corner sliding it out (no relationship or aiming at boostzor).

shit does happen, and currently if I want insurance (now that RAC have withdrawn their efforts for insuring new people for imports) I'm looking at 3,900 from sgio (who can kiss my ****) :D

i cant afford the insurance on my car so have 3rd party fire n theft from Suncorp Meway. costs me $252 a year, and in the event of an accident it covers everything (car and property) except for my own car. i personally think thats the way to go if you are unable to pay $2000 a year or more for insurance.

once im 21 im gunah try again, ive never had an accident so hopefully in 2 years time ill get a decent quote on insurance...

and about posting a video on the net, the chances of an insurance company coming across that.... well....

and for $3.5K the assessors have probably forgotten who you are now with the amount of repair bills they have to account for per year.

Dont get me wrong insurance companies will go through great lengths to prove that your claim is null and void. I know of a few young lads who are insured as a 5% driver under their parents name on their HiPo car and both have had claims void'd because it was proven they we driving the car more than 5%. An insurance company can void your claim if they find that you havent reported all traffic fines and other fines if they so wish. I think its too fine a line to tread, especially if you have a bad accident and write your car off and need to make the claim because $25k is a bit too much to fork out for a new car. Obviously RAC is going out of the import business because its costing them far too much when someone makes a claim.

Agree with you on that one, rob77. No point trying to pull the wool over insurance companies eyes, it'll only end in tears. Thing is, we're not daft, everything was done by the book and we can see absolutley nothing wrong with showing this video. Like Boostzor said, if the insurance company thought the claim was even a little suspect, it would never of gone through. They knew exactly what he was doing - kerbs don't just come out and slap into you. In fact, if anything negative ever comes from this video, I will personally pay for blowjobs for all naysayers at Langtrees. I only count 2 naysayers, so no one else allowed in on the wager :D

Anyway, lets get back to congratulating Boostzor on his fine efforts :P

Well well, Boostzor has learnt an important lesson hasn't he ?

Sorry about the insurance ass-raping your gonna get dude :):uh-huh:

and the important lesson was:

must get better and try corner again

sorry mate :P

Psiko , I gotta agree with rob77. Stay away from me. Even if you can't afford full comprehensive, at least get third party insurance like adam32.

I had a friend a long time ago who ran into the back of a very expensive ( porsche ) car cos he locked up in the wet. No insurance and it screwed him for about 5 years. The porsche insurance company took him to court and made him pay for the damages . He was paying a certain amount per week out of his pay packet for a loooong time.

Ken

BTW Boostzor , 2 crashes and throwing it into the sand at MC:D :):P . Thats gotta be telling you something:rolleyes:

Yeh Ken thats y I got the full comp:D Nahh seriously i wnated to let it go savage at MC hey i gotta learn somehow it might as well be somewhere im not gonna hurt any1 or the car. Plus i do not accept blame for the first incident that was total BS coulda happend to any1. The one u see here though ahh... yeh well cant blame any1 for that now can i :) At least after those 2 i never drive like a nutter on the road (used to cain it like a man possesed) i have gained a measure of 'self control' too bad that doesnt extend to "car control" :)

If anything it tells me im not as l337 as i thought. I apologise for not being as l337 as you Ken :( Im sure u had ure share if run ins in ure time.:) *ahem*GTR*cough*targa*splutter*write off:)

I know I'm going to regret this in the long-run, but anyway

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
