Bobbo, Nothing personal, cause I know your a sensible guy, but powerful cars and inexperience behind the wheel are bad combinations.

Having said that, I don't think that reducing the power of vehicles that P platers are allowed to drive would have a huge affect, it's all about driver education, and spending more on training.

i know pauly, haha

i think (as i said above) power restrictions will have little effect, the reasoning behind this is that a person, once off the P's, still have no education about driving a high powered car, driving the less powerful car will give them a chance to get more use to the road etc, and become more confident being on the road and around other cars. BUT i see the problem of the young person just off the P's (REMEMBER THEY ARE STILL ONLY 19) being over confident in a high powered car, and causing a crash or something, due to lack of experience, not in driving in general, but in driving a high powered car.

there is a difference between having a 17 year old driving a gtr and a 19 year old driving it who has had 2 prior years of driving experiance and is also more mature. i think a power restriction is a good idea, but also a shit load more training.

I was 18 when I got my S15, 19 when I sold it and over the course of time it was modified slowly to car with over 250rwhp in a light, nimble chassis.

I never had any problems with it as I realised I was PAYING for the car and if I crashed the car I would be PAYING for the repairs.

Things are appreciated a lot more when you have to work for them. Common sense really?

As a mother of a 16 year old boy, who is just looking at sitting for his L's. I can clearly state that he will not be getting out on the road without as much experience as I can get him. We will make sure that he does one of the driver training courses. It is time the goverment got serious instead of bandaid approaches and put up the money for these courses ....they would do alot more to help road deaths than curfews, etc. We all want the best for our kids, but money is always a big issue. I am saving now for the course, it is hell cheaper than a funeral.

Attitude seems to be one of the key players though in regards to younger people though. When younger people are seen driving nice cars, many people automatically generalise that they are dickheads in cars (read: hoons). It's this myopic view which gives many people the shits.

Its always a select few which ruin it for the rest. But unfortunately this select "few" is probably 50% of P platers out there.

Driver training all the way.

I've just got my car back and am waiting for the next MC day.

My first car was a 60 Kw Excel my mum gave to me, i had this car for 6 months then i sold it & bought me a skyline. My car is good for 220 rwkw & is quite a bit of power for a young P plate driver. I personally think i am a very good defensive driver and so does my dad seeing he's watched me drive very defensively with quick reaction times when other idiots are making mistakes. So on the condition of my driving abilities he doesnt have a problem with me having such a fast car. I bought my car myself also so i'll dam make sure i dont crash it, if some other kid had their parents buy their car they might take their driving abilities for granted.

HOW THE HELL can you have an Average of 65 Posts per day & like 45,000 posts! Thats a fake or edited number right... Do you even have a job!

Well it seems that we're all agreed that additional training is required, and that the majority of other approaches are going to have minimal affect. SAUWA is going to encourage driver training as much as possible, and we hope that any P plater's with Skylines take advantage of that:D

My average post hit 100 per day, but I have since slowed down, and I have more than 50,000 posts, some were lost when the server crashed, read my sig;)

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
