the 89 model cars shouldnt really bring the price of the 92s and 93s down too much. just because "my mates mate got an 89 for 7grand" it doesnt mean a 92 is worth less.

example: all cars still have a decent price difference between age of cars within the same model. as we have seen with people trying to onsell their 89 cars, most people are asking around 13-15 (i guess everyone who has imported a car knows about the extra costs incurred to get a fresh import up to a good standard). so that means that a clean 92 or 93 with the usual extras should be more like 16-17.

yes it is more than some 33s, but there are people who are willing to pay it.

i think 89 and lack of being able to import 92, 93 models, etc for nearly 12 months have pushed the prices *up*

you used to quite easily get a good r32 gts-t for around $12-13k.. now that is almost bargain basement.

r33 are still everywhere as well these days, pushing the price of them down in general.

Looking at one with $20k on it.

Has AM Turbo, SAFC, Full Apexi zorst, GTR Bonnet & Front Bar, FMIC, Cam Gears, CAI, CD Stacker, Nice wheels, Exterior very clean as is interior, 140,000 (will check if rebuilt and by whom) - could actually be a 'real' km reading!

Need to get more details though - waiting for him to get back to me.

nismo_boy - whats wrong with the 89' skylines??

Not so much what’s “wrong” with the 1989 R32’s, its just then general bandwagon kiddies who read the Risbey and J-spec list’s, and see the cheap and nasty R32’s with the $9k - $12k price tag, yet they fail to take into account the what if coast’s if something were too go wrong, as with most older cars they need all work. Not the case with all… But you can see where I’m coming from.. In saying that though, I know even the newer one's can, and will do need work ect ect.

I am trying to buy a 93 R32 GTS-t in Japan at the moment and like all cars shitters are cheap, clean auto's are mid priced and a manual with under 100,000 in the right colour with no accidet repair are up their 350,000 yen plus.

It is like everything in life if you think the price is fair and you can afford buy it.

I agree with some of you other guys, it's not the year 89-93etc it's current condition of the car overall.

I would pay just as much for a 89 as 93 if the condition and mods were good. Afterall it's the same car.

Wouldn't waste your time with cheap and nasty anything under 10K (local or imported) much better off getting good clean car and spending a few extra grand.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
