About Vic roads I’m more concerned about the quality of the actual roads we drive on which give me the shits every time I hit a pot hole etc and worrie about breaking something to do with my suspension.

lol I keep reading pothole as 'pole'.

Indeed... there ought to be a course on how to avoid potholes without crashing into cars coming up alongside.

Perhaps if they can't maintain the roads they could make the lanes wider..

in simple terms you can kill yourself in any car is dosent have to be high powered though it increases the risks but any car is a death trap it all depends on the user/driver of the car.

All the stress is on P Platers, but am I the only one who is about | |<-- this close to being run off the road by some old guy every 2nd day? At least P Platers can keep in their own lane for more than 30secs.

I don't really care if P platers drive HP vehicles, I haven't had too many problems with them as yet.. burnouts = lots of $$ for them, accidents = lots of $$ for them. If you can count the amount of fatality crashes (widely publicised) caused by p platers on one hand, I don't see how it can be such a huge problem. Driving interstate, I've *almost* had several heart attacks thanks to 'speeding' truck drivers (in both senses), I'm sure they kill just as many people.

But don't quote me, I'm too lazy to look up the actual stats and can only offer my personal opinion based on experience of 5+ yrs of driving & 15yrs being an attentive passenger.

ye i agree, old people on the right lanes going 20km under the speed limit, i am a patient driver, but even that wears thin after a few mins and is forced to make tight lane changes. Got no problems with old or slow drivers IF they stick to the left lanes. But i see more and more of them driving super slow on the right lane. I dont know if this is just me, but seems like some of them slow down even more when they see a P plater behind them!

you don't appreciate how wide melb roads are until you drive in Syd :P

Actually I'm originally from Sydney and you're right, I forgot how narrow they are :)

Also there's a hell of alot more trees & grass in the middle of the roads down here which is nicer, BUT a distinct lack of reflectors on the road.. when it's raining you can barely see any lines.. let alone when you first move down and you don't where your lane just went after crossing an intersection.. (eg Hoddle St heading south).. GAH.

    • Hahahahah, look, your not wrong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and thank you brother πŸ™πŸΌ jokes aside, I haven't driven the car in 6+ years and it's like I'm starting all over again, and furthermore the car is wayyyy more powerful and it's characteristics are night and day different now compared to what I remember. So I'm slowly easing myself back into the groove, the car is literally scaring me a bit tbh.....it feels like it has 200hp more than it does on paper and responds like a cammed Ls v8, and-some! πŸ˜… every single bit of throttle pedal travel and input has instant response all the way to the floor, zero flat spots or labouring feelings, it's nuts. • If the house has ever been sold before too, they have photos from that etc.
    • I used to do that, but then I got savvy. The benefits of having your phone photos geotagged outweigh the negatives. I just don't publish any photo straight off the phone/out of the gallery/off google photos, etc. If I'm going to use a photo, other than for SMSing to fam, I will always open it on the computer, copy it/otherwise edit it and save down without the original metadata, before using it. For example, posting photos of my engine bay into a thread on here, to show someone a plug or something - I will just screen-cap the section I want to use and paste that section direct from the clipboard into the post. No metadata goes along with.
