Hey Guys,

On a recent trip OS I picked up a copy of the last ROAD & TRACK mag ( US Version ) and inside it had the first test of the Infinity Coupe ( which wil be the new Skyline Coupe ).

This mag had nothing but the highest of praises for the car, calling it a real sports car more than a luxury coupe. As you all know it's based on the same platform as the new Z, and although this version had the same engine, it had slightly less power and obviously weighs more. It did however out perform the Z in the cornering and slalom tests. Interior is identical to the Z. In the US it also has optional Brembo brakes, a first for non GTR 'lines. Not sure if this is the same motor for the JAP version, but in the US it will be priced about US$30000, and it out performs the porche Boxter. I'll try and scan the article and post it if anyone is interested.

PS - It did have the twin after-burners for rear tailights

cheers

Bobby

yer can u PLEASE scan the article :):D:D

NISMO: when u talk about the Z do u mean the nissan 350Z? and u say it costs $US30k.. i read an article in the west australian newspaper about the car and they said it was going to be sold for about $AUD60k. pretty good value i reckon.

Yeah it is the 350Z that I'm referring too, and yep $60AUD sounds correct. Let's just hope that Nissan Australia finally see the light and realise the potential that this car would have in AUS. I've shown the pictures to my mates who are loyal, Holden, Ford, Honda fans, and all agree that this car would be in a class of it's own here in Aus.

I'll try and scan the article tonight, I've got indoor soccer after work so not sure if I can get it done.

thanks for the reply nismo.. yer im pretty sure its definately coming out here. im sure the article mentioned the model types that were coming out. from memory there was the base model for 60k or the better version for 65k with a different front bar and mags.. thats all i can remember happy.gif

thats a pretty ordinary looking car. cant see the popularity of the skyline remaining with that thing! maybe the r34 is the last nice looking skyline?

hey was is it true there are going to be no more turbo cars coming out of japan so that they can all meet new emission laws or something? if it is true is there a new law that also states that cars must look bland and unimaginative?

oh yer... just to add.. was that the r35? or the 350z? i cant remember what the 350z looked like but i swear the pic i saw looked better than that if that is a pic of the 350z. hmm....

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
