Hi all.

Ok I was just curious to know what the 3 box things under the parcel shelf are on my r32 GTR?

i was havng a look at replacing the factory speakers and when i was looking under from the boot there is 3 controllers of some kind. two rectangle ones and one round one all have fairly big wiring loomes coming out of them and going off into the car.

i have seen similar kinds in nissans but they have been amp pre outs for the factory stereo but not three of them and not that much wireing.

Hi Scott;

You poor bugger (except for getting the car of course). You never should have said you were a newbie. Haven't you seen evidence of the twisted minds that roam this site in cyberspace just waiting for people like you? The most warning you're likely to get is a MUAHAHAHAH before they strike. Just as well most of them are pretty bloody funny and actually nice people.

They'll prob tell you one is a graviterix deccelerometer and the other a darkness re-inverberator but since yours has three you've got the optional jetroflux pack, very rare.

To save you from them I'll tell you they really are a stereo amp, HICAS computer and ATTESSA computer. Sorry don't have manual here and can't remember which is which but I think the round one is the amp. Unless someone else provides info I'll check tonight.

Good luck.

Hahaha yeah well to nissans i am new but not to cars. so i wouldnt let my self get fooled too much.... :nowigetit

cheers mate i knew one would of been the factory amp. thats cool so ill make a note .. dont touch any of them! :) ill do my own wiring for the sound so i wont need the amp, but ill leave it alone.

no no no! you must touch the HICAS one with petrol and a lit match at some stage.

geez...lucky i never asked that question! i was like "its there for a reason...dont touch things that you know nothing about"

Memo to me: graviterix deccelerometer , darkness re-inverberator, and optional jetroflux pack....got it!

    • So I actually had the cover off my car today, here is a (bad) pic of the setup. I have an oil cooler thermostat block, the temp sender is straight in there. The pressure sender has a short AN line to a T piece which is mounted (hopefully cable tied counts as mounted....) on the chassis. BTW every fitting you could ever imagine exists....just depends what they cost and how many you need. Raceworx AN adapters are here: https://raceworks.com.au/fittings/adapters/, I think you said you need BSPT to AN (https://raceworks.com.au/fittings/adapters/bsp/tapered/an-to-bspt-adapters/) and AN to NPT (https://raceworks.com.au/fittings/adapters/npt/) BTW, braided line is super simple to make. It looks intimidating, is not.
    • Perfect day for a pie, really needs a soft top in this weather though
    • Prime parking, she is a little girl...LOL
    • I'm actually not sure - I think it was "Stealth Performance" (It really is near impossible to find a FEMALE 1/8BSPT to 1/8NPT male at ALL) but having the thing leveraged on a 90 degree angle on a small aluminium fitting is not too smart. Also in not too smart, I've drilled out the center of the broken fitting so there's maybe 0.00001mm of thread to bite into, so yeah. I may have to get it drilled/tapped/plugged entirely. Given I could conceivably tap a thread/adapter/pressure line in any point in the oil system I suppose it's feasible to run a line to the Nissan Sensor to keep the dash working. Do these exist in AN fittings and the like? Like an AN fitting that has a NPT (or other?) thread as well for putting a sensor in?
    • I would agree.  There will be an amount of boost you could run safely with an otherwise factory system, but it would be low enough to not be worth the cost.  And if you are reliving your 20s, you know a 'little bit' was never enough. Personally, if I didn't want to spend the money, then stick with NA bolt-ons, and maybe a tune.
