be costly new! I'd try CAPA, AVO etc and see if they have replaced the stocker and have it sitting around... Failing that try a ford wrecker (they should be able to link up on a network to find a smashed one). If you want one new, let me know - My friends parents own a ford dealership. (send a PM as I might not get back to this thread...)

if you call a ford dealer i am sure you will be surprised. I have heard it's about 1400. However be very mindful of buying that exect turbo, as it is specifically built for a 4L. You may have to swap exhaust housings for a more RB friendly one

They are more than $1400 brand new. I just bought one at a good price, yet to fit in on my RB30DET yet.

Keep and eye on these for sale forums and also calaisturbo, and trading they do pop up in all three from my epxerience

interesting. i've heard nothing but kudos about them on RB30's and RB25s ..from a guy that works are Rank Rotary and ATP i think .....had alot of 250 plus rwkw results on calais and what not ..

most guys been picking them up for 1400 at the most.

iwant one for my RB24 build up

Matt

hrmm Interesting.. :D

They are internally gated so that may suit my needs nicely, providing they will tap on 300rwkw's door. 299.1rwkw I'd be happy. :P

I wouldn't even dream of sticking one of those ford turbo's on a rb20. lol

6000rpm full boost lol..

i dont think that is what the discussion is about, dude. :bonk:

the turbo is roughly able to support somewhere near 500hp perhaps more. not too sure coz i'm yet to see a compressor map. At least then it would give everyone an indication of its "gurth"

I asked Brett at GCG the same Q a while back , $2500 . The only pics I was able to track down showed a .50AR compressor cover which Brett reckons is a TO4E . I don't know for sure but doubt Garrett would try to squeeze a 56 trim GT40 compressor into a 50 TO4E cover , could be 50AR TO4S cover with small snout ?

I would be interested to know if Garrett do an integral gate .82 exhaust housing to suit its GT35 turbine , Ford used the 1.06AR version I think .

Cheers A .

shit if its 1400 sign me up ( i just like the fact i dont need a wastegate.. plus i know if i get one it will be the atmo which i dont want to do)

so are we talking about boost about 4k (my rb is 2.658 litres)

steve when did it come on in the rb25

cheers

The car we did was a stocker RB25 with only ECU cooler and exhaust so we stopped at 350rwhp, only needed a soft ign Map and 14psi.

A stock rb25det, with ecu, exhaust & what...the xr6 turbo pulling 250rwkw's fark, is this true

Where are you located, give me info, ill pay you to do this to my rb25, gees! :jump:

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
