Owww man, i never knew they have already released the next skyline, a dam maxima / 350z clone... That car looks great.... for a luxury car, not a skyline!

Maxima's are great for an older driver wanting comfort, but for the skyline to be another maxima. That's stupid. F#ck renault. The G35 Isnt even a bloody turbo is it? + it's a V6... It's lost everything about Godzilla.

Are they going to release an r35 too? Coz i've seen the mad looking concepts of that one.

geno8r: Do a seach before posting dude! I must admit, when I saw the thread title I thought "oh no, here we go again..."

The forum is called "The Next Skyline", but that means the V36 Skyline + GT-R, not the V35 (you probably know that now so I'll shuddup)

Regardless of the next skyline V36 or whatever... that doesnt change anything about my original post, its a dam maxima. & an r35 like in the pics would be sweet.

But if you did a search before posting you would realise that, a. there is no such thing as an R35, and b. Those two gt-r concept pictures have been doing the rounds for 4+ years and won't look anything like them.

F#ck renault, how could they kill godzilla, the r32, 33, & 34 have been the best series of skylines ever, bit of shame if there isnt ever going to be an r35 which it seems.

ausgtr I never said there was going to be an r35, i asked if there was going to be one?

Quote Post #1 "Are they going to release an r35 too?"

Yes, i thought those pics looked like an r35 concept, they surely look like a progression of the r34, what are those concepts then, to what model name were those concepts called then? Those image filenames are labelled r35, & when i did a search on r35, that’s what came up. Would you not agree that the concept does not best resemble what a possible r35 could be?

:P

geno8r: do a search, and read some of the material thats been posted in this forum already. I assure you if you had read some of the threads about the next GT-R, you wouldn't be asking these questions.

The next GT-R is going to be the first of the next *generation* GT-R, so it's highly unlikely that they'll keep using the "R" prefix... although as Carlos Ghosn is a wannabe tryhard sportscar enthusiast bean counter, anythings still possible at this stage.

AS for those "concept" pics you posted, they aren't concepts pics.... they're just photochops put together by some Chinese graphic design Uni student about 4 years ago.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
