unwritten law
On my way home tonite from work, I notice my clutch pedal was feeling a bit sus. Get to my turnoff (exit 77 on the m1 northbound) and take it out to downshift and cant get the pedal in. It had snapped. This is not the first time this has happened to me - About 14 months ago I broke one and got it replaced with one from the wreckers. I had rolled around the roundabout, and couldnt get any further so I was stuck in between the roundabout and the bridge crossing the m1 - no the best of places to pull up as there was no edge line and only barrier kerb which I couldnt mount. Swearing and cursing, I put my hazards on and call a mate from work to come and tow me (he has a hilux and I dont have racq anymore). Waiting for about 15-20 mins sitting on the kerb, I see 5 skylines go past (2 32's and 3 33's). They only looked and kept goin on their way. If I saw a fellow line on the side of the road, that looked like they were in trouble I would definately pull over to see if they were alright and offer assistance - I think that is part of being a true enthusiast. Just goes to show that their are alot of skyline drivers out there with 'skyline syndrome' and couldnt give 2 shits..... krawler
We always stop to help fellow skyrice owners. There was only one time we didnt stop, and it was someone from here. We felt bloody shithouse But ask plenty of people who bust their cars, we always stop and lend a hand, even if its just hanging around while waiting for a tow truck. NismoGirl
Ha! I was going to say it was you. But that's the only time we have never stopped. As Andrew said, even if it's just to sit and keep the person company, we always stop. Only two weekends ago we saw Phil (from canberra) on the side of the road and pulled over and made sure he had a lift home (already organised one) but we rang the tow truck and stuff to get him off the side of the M1. strutto
Bwaahahahahah... Once bitten, twice shy eh... But yeah, I usually try to lend a hand to stricken motorists where possible... I remember holding up all 3 northbound lanes at Springwood to push a dead Renault off the road... I felt his pain as I was in a Renault too... Worst, car, ever... Another memorable: Young brunnette who got collected on her Ducati by old lady in Pulsar... Lots of tears Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/54581-my-sook/#findComment-1067812 Share on other sites
666DAN
The last time I tried to help a fellow Skyline...the ful-sic occupants were unappreciative and rude....so I left them trying to figure how to jump-start their car with no battery and no place to roll it up to speed Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/54581-my-sook/#findComment-1068351 Share on other sites

Revhead
I nearly always pull over to help, whether it be any type of car, a bike, two hot chickies with an RX2, whatever. I'm just a nice bloke, haha The only time I don't stop is if I honestly can't spare the time, ie I really need to be somewhere. I've only ever broken down once (in my old Commodore) and I got the shits on REAL bad because of the people that acknowledged the fact that I was there, a third of them pointed and laughed, and the rest beeped and got abusive (wtf???) I pulled over to help some guys in an R32 one time in Brisbane, they started paying out my R33 because I apparently hadn't modified it enough for their liking, then gave me shit because apparently driving a Skyline newer than theirs meant I was a snob and thought I was better than them etc. Rather than risk being up for assault charges, I left them stranded in the middle of the CBD without telling them that the plug to the ignitor pack had fallen off. I saw it getting loaded onto a tow truck on my way back out of the city, so hopefully their attitude cost them a fair bit in transport and mechanical bills Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/54581-my-sook/#findComment-1068677 Share on other sites
