I've heard of this before but it's always had me wondering...

Who defines "excessive accelleration" and how do they measure it?

Its called "unessessarily loading a vehical causing excessive noise"

and it costs $240 and three points here in QLD and I got done for it once. So nows its official, according to the ****ing cops, its ellegal to use the bottom half of your throttle, because it causes this. Well you smart arse ****ing coppers, why did they biuld the bottom half into the throttle at the factory then you tossers!!

(sorry, im still cut from the whole experience)

I got pulled over, he handed me my ticket, blah blah, and I had my stereo off, no breaking in traction, and no speeding, and Totally legal exhuast system. All I did is accellerate from 0 to 50kms/hr flat out. (twin turbo 350hp VL). How did I not loose traction? cruide traction control, using boost cut in first gear. So there you see it wouldnt have even been that loud anyway!! Certainly impressed the pig tho.

but you get that I spose.

That was 3 years ago and I have since slowed down and have all 12 points but anyway...

I got tailgated by cops almost weekly in the VL (now drive a stock XR6T) but if they do it to you, simply pull over and turn the engine off. If they come up and ask you what your doing, tell them you dont like being tailgated by police. Simple.

And if they ask you why? Then tell them it distracts you from driving safely, and ask them politely if they can avoid doing it in future.

F***, anything at all that can piss cops off im all cheers to it, because I hate the C***s personally from this kind of behavior, But having said that I just hope I dont have to rely on one one day to pick up my ass off the road after a accident *fingers crossed*

i pulled out of my driveway one day after work, going up to my g/f place, a cop drove past just before i pulled out, so i follow him down the road (sitting way back from him) turn onto the highway, drive down the road about 500 meters, they pulled over, i kept going past not speeding but not going obviosly slow.

next thing he turns on the lights comes chasing after me down the road, pulled me up started checking over the car, checked the rego, checked me licence, quised me about where i was going, and asked me where i was coming from (when he just watched me pull out of the house with the address that was writen on the licence he just checked).

in the end let me go.

waste of time and a pain in the arse.

in the meantime peoples cars n houses are always getting broken into but they still hassle us doing nothing wrong..

im over it..

guys get over calling police cops FFS....

sure you get dickhead cops from time to time but you get dickheads anywhere in any industry. They're doing their job to make this country a safer place to live FOR YOU!! And at the end of the day if you get done for something then it's your own damn fault. Wear it and get on with it. There's no need to carry on calling them names or making derogatory comments.

We've all been done for various offences by the police... stop carrying on

you a cop? lol na man i understand they doing there job, but to pick on certain people because of certain cars they drive. fine u get some dikheads who drive like complete wanks, but to me it seems everytime im in my skyline they have an eye on me, fair enough its worked, lowered.. the works, but hey my car is so damn low that if i give it a hard time ill loose in my own pocket anyways, why keep an eye on me? dont have a bad driving record, jus sick of these poofs in blue thinking there all that. goto the rocks in sydney on a sat night, get the occasional ****wit doing a smoke show, sure get those clowns and give them the book, but why not let everyone hang out, doin no harm, all done up cars, jus there chilling why make all these people drive else where? leave them in 1 place and let them be, act like a dick get treated like a dick, but dun stereo type people because of the car they drive, because it goes pshhhhhhhhh makes u a dickhead driver? i can most certainly say 99% of u guys on this site have driven a car not being a skyline and been speeding in it past a cop and hasnt done nothing, yet if u were in ur skyline if u were doin 65 in a 60 zone i bet u would get pulled over. Doin there job is one thing, but if your gonna pull us over, pull EVERYONE over, including off duty officers!

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
