Yes they are different... But yes the coupe cat back fits the sedan fairly easily... The tip sits in a bit under the rear bumper and the hangers will kind of push forward a bit but it works... I have a coupe Trust catback on my sedan... Fitted it myself at home...

The main difference is at the Cat end of the pipework, it's about 1 inch longer...

Any more questions just ask...

so by cat end does that mean the front pipe is different but dump the same

what about body parts for body kits and such

im assuming cause of lenght any side skirts would be longer but Ive also saw the car is also slightly wider so are front and rear bars interchangeable ?

do you know the weight of the 4 door ?

Nup... The front and dump are identical to the coupes... This is how I describe it...

It goes: Turbo - Dump (short bit) - Front pipe - Cat - Cat Back...

The extra length is in the Cat Back section, but at the cat end, not the muffler end... You could always get someone to cut the flange off the end of the coupe cat back and add in an inch or so... But it works as is...

Front bar fits fine... 100% certain... Skirts are different, but a company up here make some lengthened GTR copies... Blits Motorsports Gold Coast... Around $300 a pair... Some Jap kit makers have sedan skirts too but way more pricey...

Rear bar doesn't fit at all without serious mods... Same goes for the rear pods...

Weight I can't remember off the top of my head but it's listed somewhere on the web... Wasn't that much more than the coupe... Around 70kgs IIRC...

:)

like... err you mean love :D

Best car I've ever owned... Driven plenty of nicer cars though... Dad's 2000 34 GTR Vspec comes to mind...

I haven't had a single problem that wasn't caused by me in over 2 yrs ownership... No other sedan compares for the money...

re-r33-059676.jpg

I have some 18x8.5 rims to go on saturday

Nasty, nasty, nasty :(

Autos aren't THAT bad... But the path of modification is surely harder with the auto ECU...

Car looks nice Arkon... You don't see many in that colour... Some 18's will set it off nicely and a quick spray of that front grill will make it look a million bucks :(

thanx guys , the 18s are on and look tops . ill be ripping all the air defletors of asap , they are hidious .

what do you mean spray the grill ? like a silver or something ?

im converting to a manual eventually , for a while im going to enjoy cruising in a stock auto . I spent the last couple of years in a mildly modified s15 manual . which is obviously fun but doesnt quite have the level of brainless drivability a stock auto does . but i have plans for some semi serious mods . also im not sure if I want to keep the rb25 in favour of a 26 so im not going to start modding just yet .

am i right in understanding there are no aftermarket rear bars at all for r33 4 door ? can anyone point me to one , preferably locally ? or is modifying a 2 door one my best bet ?

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
