Adjustable Antena

Is this possible? To make a knob or something which adjusts the height of the antena? or a switch which puts the antena down? my mums VX calais has this so i was wondering how hard would this be to do?

yep its possible. you need the control box from a VP statesman or jackaroo. then you need a direct drive antenna. from there you need a small centre off rocker switch.

the idea is that your radio will put the antenna to the height you set and from there you can raise and lower it.

for the VX that function is in the BCM unit.

car wont fit in the garage with the antenna up I take it?

R33 SII Sedans have the variable antenna switch, im allmost positive that its the same as found in a 97 Nissan Patrol. Very likeyl you could get the parts direct from nissan. Hope that helps.

It's pretty easy to do with a DPDT switch and a relay or two... Any automatic antenna can be converted to semi-automatic (ie. adjustable)
