turbo not spooling?

Recommended Posts

i have a r32gtst. when i go for a drive, for the first 3 minutes the turbo makes a spool and sucknig noise but it has no affect on excelleration. when the car is running after 3 minutes the turbo kicks in and works fine. However some days i can be driving for say an hour and suddenly i will take off and the motor will make noise like its running really hard and the turbo wont spool. 2 minutes later it will be fine again. anybody have any ideas? (this isnt what you call shaft play is it?)

ps, i dont know bout boost coz my gauge is not and has never been hooked up.

Similar thing happens to me in my 33. Only in the higher gears tho. Sometimes if im in say 5th gear and i accelerate from 2000rpm when it boost comes on the revs will rev hard but the car wont accelerate at the rate of the revs.

Not sure what it is maybe spark?

my 33 does that too, on higher boost it does it worse and coughs and splutters, ive put it down to coils and am getting some 2nd hand ones this week, if that fixes it ill get some splitfires. it started after runnin 1bar for 3 days, so i wound it back to 12psi untill it started to do it again, im runnin 7psi now and its starting to do it again, so i think its coil packs breaking down.

ive checked all the intercooler pipes and hoses, and vucuum lines, and also the turbine and compressor wheels.

ill let you know how it goes

cheers
