Even though it's meant to be easy, I'm stupid when it comes to mechanics. Anyway on my stock stock stock R33 GTS seems the fuel pump is dead (won't even start unless I punch the fuel tank a few times). I want to put a cheap Walboro GSS341 in cos I'm gonna sell the car in 6 weeks. I'll most prob buy the pump off ebay $170odd.

Anyway, who would you recommend to install this pump? I checked out hte installation instructions for a Bosch on a silvia and you need a hacksaw, etc. Reckon if I took that and the pump to the local servo, they'd say I bought the wrong one or something.

Any guys you recommend? Bettter yet someone that comes out (so I don't have to tow the car there).

Alternatively, anyone here wanna do it for some pocket money?! :)

Its all fun in games til you have to stick your hands up to your armpit in fuel ..... just ask GTSTvspec .... after he did mine he vowed never again - i think the fuel burnt the hair off his arms for a while there haha

Best contact the experts ........ "to the sponsors thread batman" :)

It isn't too hard to do. I watched Scott (C Yar) do mine, which reminds me, I think I owe him beer for that.. anyhow, it took us (him) about an hour or hour and a half to do it.

You'd get more satisfaction doing it yourself, or at least getting a friend to help, than paying someone else to do it :)

The Warlbro I put in required absolutely no modifications what so ever or bending of any brackets.

I have an original GTS4 Pump thats OK I replaced with a Bosch 040.

You could have that for less - not sure how much - make an offer?

Its not that hard to swap over but I am stuffed if I know how my fuel gauge works so well after trying to get it out and back in without bending the sensor float! :)

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
