At a guess i'd say he's not running stock turbos...

The Rb26 Internals usually can cope with the 320rwkw you want... as Leewah said the stock turbos/fuel system is what struggles

If you've upgraded injectors/turbos and usually ECU, a good tuner should be able to get you well over 300rwkw - Go see Racepace.

i picked up my car from workshop in March, but i hardly push it as my girl will konck on my head if i do so...anyway, i have following mod on my car:

PowerFC,

HKS GT-SS,

HKS 600cc Injectors,

HKS Type-R Intercooler,

Nismo Fuel Pump,

Sard Fuel Regulator,

Tomei Cam Gears,

and other pieces...

all i'm worried about is internal, dont know if it will hold that sort of boost pressure and power or not.

ok well the boost shouldn't be a problem but i think your better off looking in other area if you want a bit more hp, as offen exact boost doesnt alway mean much exact power. I can only talk from my experiences but my gtr r33 is running around 525hp on stock internals and is quiet happy .Its been around 500rwhp for quiet awhile now and with no problems i do intend on upgrading internals in time as i'm currently buy the components for it.

but to show boost to rwhp relationship on mine at current tune

13psi ~440rwhp

15psi =484rwhp

18psi =512rwhp

20psi =525rwhp

as you can see the last couple of psi arnt gaining much hp and i normal drive it at about 0.9 bar (~440rwhp) on the avcr and just turn up occationly for a bit of a blast etc

the biggest gain in the development of my ride were the install and tune of power fc and then later the install of tomei poncams 260 9.15mm with adjustable wheels

but all the hp from the cams came when i tuned them in ie over a 100 hp increase just from tuning the cams, so i would suggest a nice set of cams (make sure you take the time and tune them) would be a good investment AS LONG you have already upgraded the exhaust turbos back and the inlet system ,as these should be your first mod (i didnt see them in your list, but you may not have mention them )

ps i hope this helps

:P

i have HKS dump pipes, front pipes and 80mm cat back

a r32 GTR from one of the jap magzine got 671hp flywheel at 1.5bar with stock internals

it has:

HKS stage1 cams

HKS 2530s

HKS 1.2mm headgasket + other usual mods to go with the turbo

however, i'm sure that jap is using higher octant fuel and much cooler than aus, which does make differences

yeah sounds about right with a 20% loss(not sure on exact loss) through drive train that would be about 536rwhp and i have seen a 550rwhp gtr with hks 2530's at 25psi (1.7bar)on std internals BUT i think that may have been on better ron fuel ,but do not exspect this power for to long from a std engine as i only turn up the wick occationly .

the other thing is the garret 320hp ball bearing turbos and hks 2530 (320hp) seem to be a very close match (if anything in my opinion the garretts are best at lower boost around 1.3bar but the hks come into there own at the higher boost setting 1.5 to 1.7bar) but your hks gtss turbos are only around the 280hp per unit mark so may not flow the same sort of rwhp. But you should have very good responce and spool up.

ps i think cams are the go for your set next and i reccomend tomei poncams 260 deg 9.15mm lift these are a direct bolt in unit and require no head machining (there about as big as you can go with out machining) they are simply an awesome cam

i'm thinking of getting those cams too (still std engine). what other mods would you put with the cams or is that all you need? different valvesprings, etc?

i have these cams on my bedroom floor :(

uLa32: they're supposed to be bolt-in; as long as you don't raise the rev limit too much, the stock valve springs should be ok? I'm not changing mine :D

Would go with adjustable cam gears though

how do u like ur gtss turbos?

im running 1.1bar on my stockies and id prefer to change them before they blow

They goes hard on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd....but from end of 3rd to 5th....they are not as good~~~!!! therefore, i would say GT2530s would be the best choice for a stock RB26DETT

Danny, there are two types of Poncams - Type A and Type B.

Type A - IN 260 EX 252, 9.15mm lift

Type B - IN 260 EX 260, 9.15mm lift

http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...r_engindex.html

I have type B

How come Nengun has 2 Type-A

1. IN 260 EX 252, 9.15mm lift

2. IN 260 EX 256, 9.15mm lift

and Type-B the one you bought

Type A

In order to get stable idle and raise low-mid RPM torque, we set the duration of EX camshaft shorter.

Best suit used with stock turbine or N1 turbine.

Type B

By giving longer duration timing than type a, it eables to raise both response and peak power at the same time, even with mid-large sized turbine.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am a complete lover of Tomei equipment, after fitting Tomei PONCAM's to my already modified SR20, I got a completely new car, so muhc fun to drive, so I am more keen on going for an even higher lift cam this time, I want to keep the revs low adn I love mid range and torque.

So I am thinking of going to the Tomei PROCAM 260deg 10.85mm lift along with Springs and lifters, I think that these cams should really be a great addition to mid range addiction.

Anyone running these cams?? Just hoping the 2530's won;t run out of puff on these cams, my last turbo on my SR20 did, dropped 1psi at redline..

I haven't done Desktop Dyno simulations yet, but I will very soon. The ones for the SR20 was pretty close to what I measure with my GTech Competition Pro - no dyno for 1600kms..

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
