It is expensive and a real headache to get your gauges recalibrated - pay the little extra to get it fitted by a professsional

man not another thing i got on my car that u have 2!:)

when did u get yours?

:)

I got mine done just after buying the car (about 15months ago), before I even joined SAU or SDU so I couldn't have copied you :)

I had to suffer with stuffed gauges for a little while and then had them re-calibrated. I only properly fixed my tacho recently when I replaced it 'cos it was un repairable after I had stuffed in when trying to put the faces on:lol:

luckly grim did hes first so when we did mine we knew what mistakes not to make again. Grim broke the springs on the tacho when removing it on his!

My tach is prob like 200rpm off comparing it to the reading from the s-afc.

how much one of these sets of ricey dials cost?

I actually wonder if anyone made 'em in red background with white letterings.... instead of white background....

they dont come in red as it would be 2 hard to read at night!

Mine go from blue to green and 5 shades in between and cost me $220 from Jetspeed.

emply your pm box i cant reply to your pm

cool i empyed it hahaha

ok i was worried about the calibration you talked about and worrying about my revs spedo and the rest going off?

when you say fitted by a professinal i dont mind doing that but who do i goto ?

i ask Garry's car audio if they can do it they said fine. i was going to do em both when i install my system but iam not sure i want some one to know what there doing and get it right the first time?

if you change it do you have to recalibrate it?

and if so where are these professinals in melbourne i dont mind spending that lil bit more to get it done proberly i saw one in unique auto sport site

but its only blue i think and one of you guys said you got one that changes colours or somthing where did you get it from

web site?? etc =)

thanks for your support guys =)

rakis on unique autosports that one is blue and green, those are the only colours u can get (i think)

Theres a switch from blue to green and a brightness switch!

The green looks poxy anyway!

If you take it off carefully and mark all the points after u take the little plastic stoppers off and place the needles back exactly the same way you shouldnt have any problems!

As for Garys Car Audio doing it, check that they have done it before, as if they *** up your dash, u r gonna have to go buy another 1 like 1 of my friends did after the place he took it to stuffed his speedo up.

If the installer stuffed up, shouldn't they be responsible to replace ur speedo?

If it's so risky, would it be better to buy a cluster set ready to plug in, but that would cost heaps I suppose...

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
