doenst really matter about the plates...but if you claim it to be "the toughest" u'd expect it to be fast....hence it would be nice to see what time its run and whats actually done to the car? Meh who cares...

the owner martin had william and rob from 101 do all the performance work on the car the car does have nos but hasn't been used as the car has standard internals which is about to change as of last night when the motor deseased it self after a photo shoot down the coast. The car has all the bits for speed but was tuned on low boost when at jam 04 the car was only on the road for a week or so before that. It will be back on the street this year sometime as funds permit and will have the power to back up the plates. It did have 380hp at 10 pound prior to this without nos. Like someone said don't rubbish him unless you know him because thats the way he his, look on boostcruisin and see what he responds when people bag him. Its a fat car and thats that admire it and get over it, AND HOW CAN THE CAR BE THE FASTEST IN REDLANDS WHEN HE LIVES ON THE NORTHSIDE, TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE CAR ONLY DOES NEAR REDLANDS WHEN HE'S TRAVELLING DOWN THE GATEWAY MOTORWAY ON THE WAY TO THE COAST

Lets just say that i was one on the road one saturday nite and saw a Black R33 GTR (basically stock running stock boost = 215kw @ all 4s) chop DRAGME pretty easy. And when the GTR went for a 2nd run, DRAGME didnt want anything of it....

IWIN would bEAT DRAGME for dinner...

His whole 8 posts ever you mean...and half of them describe how he's lost a total of $60K by giving someone $30K...which they ran off with...then the other "workshop" stripped his whole car of $30K's worth of gear?

As if you'd even admit to such stupid shite...if it actually ever happened.

For all those of you who reckons they got the toughest car, Well damn i might just have the right tree, right here in my front yard for you to prove me wrong!!!! The tree can nevar lose.

Also some ppls like to drive gtst , they give more of a sleepr appeal than a in ya face gtr,

It's been said, "It's hurts more when you are beaten by a lesser opOnent, than a greater one" umm i just made that up. HAHA.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
