Just a Quick Question for anyone who knows about WA's licencing rules.

What is the rule about the largest size of rim you can legally fit to a car? How many inches can you go up in size from the standard sizes fitted to a vehicle?

If you want to go larger can you get it engineer certified?

Yes best to ring DPI, I rang regarding size difference between front and back cause I was worried about having 8" (235) on the front and 9" (255) on the rear. They told me as long as it wasn't more than 10% difference it was ok. Also that the car could take what was specified on the side panel of your car (inside your door somewhere). No sure if the panel bit is true though!

Anyone else know?

As per DPI. You can go 2 inches larger than the standard rims that came with your car. The size of the rim that came with your car is outlined on the placard just as you open the driver's side door.

Width I'm not sure. But I know that if you go larger you are suppose to maintain the same rolling diameter so that your speedo isn't out of sync. In that case, the width must be proportional to your increase.

its 2" larger than standard and i think 2" wider than standard up to 7" and no wider than 7" unless it came with wider standard in which case you cant have any wider. you can get engineers approval but its not really worth it coz the pits dont really care. i have engineers approval for mine coz i got it at the same time as a bunch of other stuff.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
