Phews, thanks guys. Mine over heated once and its' cos' of the " sender " sit in the radiator screwed itself once, didn't trigger the thermal fan to work ( this was in a heavy traffic with dirty coolant and on a Melb HOT day, funny enough my old mechanic change my water pump and didn't give me new coolant not to consider a freaking flush ) so yeah. A new unit is on the way from Japan mean while i'm using one off YLWGTR ( Troy the man ).

As for the oil pressure gauge, mine always sit low but for peace of mind i had it tested out with a Mechanical gauge and it read alright.

The factory gauges suck. The water temp will sit on 1/2 until its too late. And dont even get me started about the oil pressure gauge

I put a new oil pressure sender from Nissan in the car 20,000kms ago (2003) and its f*cked again already.

mine sits at half too...I know it's working cause it rose a couple of mm's the other day, I didn't want to take any chances so i immediately checked the engine and whadda know.. there was a leak in the radiator hose... I would've saved a heap right there, so what your reading sounds right but if it moves just a little then I'd worry

Mine never moves more than half a needle width, basically you can't see the guage moving.

Really really cold mornings/nights it will sit pretty much dead on half, its hard to tell exactly where it is sitting due to the guage which is decieving.

When the car is sitting in 40degree peak hour traffic where the AMB button reports 50degree's the needle sits 1/2 a needle width higher.

BUT it still doesn't go over ~90degree's, well it never triggers the engine overheat fan which apparently triggers at 90degree's.

The reason why the Skylines raise temp so fast (within 2km's) is the ecu retards ignition timing (can generally felt as a ever so slight flat spot on light throttle cruise and the turbo appears to spool a little quicker) + a few other little bits to get the car up to operating temp ASAP, this reduces emmisions and improves fuel economy.

Once you hit 100degree's the temp guage begins heading to 3/4.

If the needle begins to move around and you notice the engine overheat fan triggers check out the usual clutch fan and radiator blockages.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
