That sounds like fun!!! Is the car behaving itself & staying straight now.

I went looking for old  timecards & found this one -

60' 1.526,  330 not recorded, 660' 6.337 @ 117,  1000' 8.170, ET 9.637 @ 148.88

Best 60' to date has been 1.46. I think Keir is down in the 1.3s.

Keep up the good work, that would be getting close to the record in UK wouldn't it?

Hi Munro

That times and speed are very close to mine

what is your best ET time so far

I have been told that my car is now the fastest 4wd car in Europe

cant be bad for the first time out in it with the new engine and transmission

well done keith, we plan to have the fastest low mount GTR in the country (10.78)next weekend, that is if our gearbox is ready. After that the world mark is 10.6. just got some Mickey Thompson ET street drag radials to try....they indeed look the sh1t!

Umm I hate to tell you this but I don't think such a class as low mount GTR exsists :D if so where are the records held?

mmmm........I believe I read them in the latest almanac.....

03IPChanImg_almanac.gif:)

BTW.....it's good to set goals, obviously keith cowie has a goal and he is achieving it, as Aristotle said "Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals"......or another one of my favourites "To strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild", son of rajab Tennyson.

A bit deep for this time of the morning........but really it's all about the 10's What else is there in life?

seems to me that your getting it all mixed up, having goals and achieving them is great BUT making up a class just so you can give yourself a label and boast about it in your signature or where ever is bogus and just a tool to stroke your own ego

What Kieth has achieved is amazing but he said fastest AWD not some made up bogus class and he done it then claimed it not the other way round

as paul said this is our goal. can't see any bogus class creating there. There is no class.....it's purely an achievement, something to aim for. Nothing has been claimed! Not going to change our goal because you say it bogus. Also did you realise before shooting your gob off that there is no AWD class either so if you want to lick Keiths a55 and kick ours go for your life you TOOL!

Dragster33 u can howl us down as much as you like, were used to it.

BTW I Iov strokin my ego with my signature, You voted for me didnt you?

Hey Keith, have been meaning to ask you....where is the drag strip in Scotland? Do you have to travel far to race? I lived in Edinburgh for 2 years and I loved it, found it very hard to leave.

I live about 130 miles north of Edinburgh,if I want to run at a proper drag strip

I have to drive almost 500 miles,it takes 10 hours in the truck.

there are 2 places where I can run in Scotland but they are old runways

not the best and if you do a good time, then everyone says the time

does not count because it is not a proper drag strip.

Well said.

Here is a link to a post i put up about my 1/4 mile time

Hi Mario

The tyres that I used were Mickey Thomson ET streets.

The drag strip is a approved strip, there was a 7000+ bhp top fuel car

there and a jet car that ran a 6.1 at 250+ mph.

here is a link to the drag strip http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/

We were there testing the car over 3 days, the first 2 days were to get it

to run in a straight line as it was not safe to drive before.

Here is a timing slip from the Sunday, sorry for the quality of it

but it has faded with it being left in the transporter window.

S2020030.jpg

the times on it are

60ft 1.938

330 4.973

660 7.201

990 8.947

1320 10.49 at 152.15 mph not bad for a crap start

Here is a time slip from the Monday we were having problems with the

2 stage launch control the car was bogging off the line, things to sort out there

S2020028.jpg

Here is the only run that we managed to do when we switched off the

launch control,we had all 4 wheels spinning off the line.

Then the rain stopped play for the day

S2020012.jpg

On this 9.6 run I missed 4th gear and had to lift off clutch into gear and back

on the power again you will see that I lost a bit of speed on this run.

so no I did not back up the 9.6 run with a 9 sec pass but if it had not rained we

would have went much faster, but from the other slips you can see the car has the speed to do a low 9.

I don't think me and the car done that bad as this was the first time the car has

done a full 1/4 mile, since its full rebuild, last time out it blew the front diff and bust the sump.

I had a long talk with Mr. Barnes and he needs to pull his finger out and finish his

car so I have someone to race in the UK.

So that we can play catch up with the rest of the world.

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
