herooo... STAGEA onwer from townsville here. I am driving down for a wedding circa new years (in the bridal party and the stagea is going to be the car for the bridesmaids - the blokes have the 34) and I have two questions...

1: should i be worried about QLD legal mods down there (boost tap, secured pod filter (not enclosed), zaust and lowered or should i be fine?

2. does anybody have wheelstands that i can borrow whilst i am down there. I won't actually have the lowered springs until just before i leave so i am driving down with my stock suspension in most probably... lowering it for the wedding whilst i am down there, and then driving back up. I have everything else i need (spring clamps, ratchet, breakerbar, etc etc)... unless you have a hydraulic jack too which would make life a little easier than using that bloody mechanical thing.

You shouldn't have any problems down here when it comes to your mods, the police re pretty easy going so if your doing the right thing they generally wont bother you.

As for wheel stands i have a set and your more than welcome to them, depending on what day your doing it i might be able to line up a hoist for you :P

Cheers Ben

Hey there,

I too have a set of axle stands, a flat driveway, AND A STAGEA!!!!!! More than welcome to swing past and meet up if you want.

Where's this wedding you have to go to? Hobart I'm guessing. Can you name locations?

Cheers, Greg.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
